Another nice find, Marcel. I particularly like the ribbon and bow treatment. Very eye catching.Borsalino 'quàlita speciale' sold by Sools. Dated 31 december 1976. Can't read what is printed on the under side of the label. I like the color combination of this one. Thanks Steve. Yes it has a nice ribbon and bow treatment, but there are a few white spots on it which i don't know what it is. It doesn't come of with water and soap.Another nice find, Marcel. I particularly like the ribbon and bow treatment. Very eye catching.
The sweatband looks supple and almost like new.
You can't go wrong with a hat from Sools.
Try a solution of white vinegar and water. Dab it on with a toothbrush and let it rest for 5 or so minutes. Thanks Steve. Yes it has a nice ribbon and bow treatment, but there are a few white spots on it which i don't know what it is. It doesn't come of with water and soap.

Then gently wipe off in a downward motion with the grain of the ribbon.
This has helped me a few times.
Beautiful hat, both. The story of these two Lobbia (Homburg) hats is rooted in my curiosity and love for this particular style.

The first is a Borsalino "Grand Prix Paris"—a designation typically reserved for Borsalino hats that deviated from standard specifications, featuring unique, non-conformist details.

This Homburg has a ribbon trim along the brim in a subtle violet hue, along with a distinctive "rounded" shape—a rarity to come across—complemented by felt and trimmings that provide a striking contrast.

It is a size 6 (equivalent to a 59), but, as occasionally happens, it unfortunately does not fit my head.

The other Lobbia (Homburg) bears the label of Ravazzotti, from Genoa, on the linear.

I initially assumed he was an independent hatter, but it turns out to be a "reconstruction" of a hat with this same silhouette.

If I recall correctly, the dates of this refurbishment—which took place in the 1950s—are noted.

The original label is white with red borders; it looks familiar, though I cannot quite place the manufacturer.
It is a size 57 and has a perfect shape.
