Is this a concerning issue on a schott P622H or am I just paranoid?

Hey everyone, I went to the schott factory sale for the first time and ended up getting a factory first P622H at a 20% discount off retail. I was pretty excited about it but then when getting home (and away from the cluster of people haha) I was trying the jacket on a bit more and noticed that a weird shape/indentation on the shoulders that can happen. The other shoulder doesn't seem to have the same issue as it can sit/wrap around my shoulder just fine. Looking at the leather paneling, both on the front side and back side a bit more, it seems like the leather is bit more grainy and loose perhaps on the left shoulder. Is this something to be concerned about or can be resolved in anyway? Am I kinda hosed or being overly paranoid? FWIW, I'm cool with a grainier look to the leather and even mismatched paneling on this jacket (and my jackets in general), I'm just more concerned about the structure/integrity of the jacket and if this is a defect I overlooked. Thanks for the help on this! Including some photos of the jacket and of bad and good shoulder while wearing the jacket to better show my concern.

Congrats on your purchase. I am rather **** and try to carefully examine each jacket I get in the store before taking home, but the crowds at the sale yesterday were overwhelming and it was hard to go off to a quiet corner and review every inch of the jackets. I tried on 3 different versions of the style I bought to confirm the best fitting/look of the one I picked.

That said, regarding your jacket I think the shoulder will flatten over time as you wear it. My guess is that that came from how it was sitting on the hanger rather than a defect. Others may disagree, but I think if you wear it around the house with layers underneath to "fill it out", the shoulder should smooth over, IMO.

Given that the jackets sold at the factory sale are "final sale", I'm not sure what recourse you might have TBH.

Looks like a very minor case of hanger burn. Very minor. You could try and wet the shoulder and shape it while hanging it on pool noodle or similarly stuffed hanger but in my experience this just doesn’t go away. It is of no consequence structurally and very minor cosmetically.

I wouldn’t give it a second thought in this case. I’ve had some vintage pieces where the shoulder is completely misshapen from a **** hanger, but this is absolutely not the case here.

Appreciate the answer. And yeah the crowd was a bit much, more than I expected. But, I basically did what you did, tried on a couple of sizes and even a couple of the same size since there are variances even within the same size of a given garment. I ended going with the one that fit the best/most comfortably. For whatever reason the other one in the same size had sleeves that felt too tight and caused some numbing/tingling my forearm, which is a concern I have with any jacket because of an old elbow injury.

I'll add some kind of padding to the hanger and try to give it a bit more support.

How does it look when you have the jacket on?
This is how it can look when wearing it (it's also the 2nd photo on my original post). FWIW if I kinda smooth things out from the inside before putting it on, it seems to minimize the issue. So like others have said it may just be a hanger issue that I can resolve with padding the hanger.

Gotcha, thanks for the advice. I'll order some pool noodles and maybe use some socks to pad the hanger for the time being.
