I got an Aeromarine but I think it's a tad bit too short.
1)Would they charge a remake fee?
2) Would I have to wait another 3 months or be put in front of the line?
3)And how would the return/shipping and VAT process work?

For the record, left is the Aero and right is an MF Cossack. The Aero has back length of 26 inches. The MF is 25.25. Yet, the Aero looks and feels shorter.

I think it is better you ask Aero directly. Did it come much shorter than what specified?
My advice is to avoid wearing it before you hear from them.

Under Aero's FAQ under "Sizing" Aero allows a half inch (1.27cm) tolerance with all measurements on their jackets. I think if you requested a specific length it's gonna be +/- at least half inch in variance.

Aero's FAQ

I've had aero only remake a board racer jacket because the arm zips were facing the wrong side.

It was what I specified, measurements might be off by .25 inches. But the lenght is way different than the MF. (MF is measured shorter by .75 inches)

Im just waiting for aero to reply. Hoping I can get some thoughts and opinions here first

I see. I've never returned a jacket to them for fit issues, hopefully it will turn out good for you, keep us informed.

Did they charge you anything? or pay for return shipping?

I went through thurston so all of that was handled through them, I paid to ship the jacket back to Washington so no duties or anything.

Probably a different journey if you went through Aero directly.

If the jacket falls within tolerance of your spec then I'm not what you're driving at. Using MF pattern as comparison to justify a remake doesn't make any sense.
Ok... Im just asking has anyone done remakes and what the process is like and wait time? Im not assigning blame. Im just here for the process, cost and wait time.

from the one picture you posted it doesn't really look too short.. the jacket is supposed to be short. a longer jacket may not look great either.

i suspect Aero will take it back ( with you paying shipping) and offer a remake or other credit. Maybe try a different model as you have the MF.

i think its the different leather between the Aero and the MF making them feel different. the unlined MF jacket probably feels lighter and flows better then the stiffer horsehide.

Whatever you're told, ask Aero. Not random dudes in a forum.

This said, my ready to wear J100 was apparently from a customer that exchanged it due to fit or sizing issues. I don't know what their deal was, but it seems exchanging is possible in some capacity.

The jacket meets the specifications and fits well. As such, there probably won’t be a free exchange. I’ve had an exchange with Remake before, but on that occasion there was also an issue with the quality.
I didn’t have to pay anything for the return postage, but I didn’t get the VAT back. It might not take quite as long as placing a new order, but ultimately it depends on how busy they are.

And did you have to pay vat and duties on the replacement jacket as well?

For a remake, VAT is not applicable. However, if the courier handles the import it will charge VAT with the customer being able to claim it back. It does work, but it is a long and tiresome process.
