On another note, is @Bamaboots accounted for? I fear he may be on the lam from the long arm of the law.

Personally, I've never seen it before. It's executed extremely cleanly though for sureWhat's going on in the front of the sweatband? Is that a replacement piece sewn in for a bit of leather that deteriorated or does it look original to the hat and provides protection to the front of the hat like the Borsalino corrugated section?
Is that a SWI? (Sewing while intoxicated)Finally getting out for coffee this morning for the first time since tuesday and the little hospital adventure. (Foot and leg are doing much better). Figured it was appropriate to sport the little Marathon that I worked on while laid up. SO glad I figured out how the save the origional hatband..... that little spacship is just so cute. Note to anyone attempting a similar theraputic hat remodel..... be very careful when sewing on sweatbands or ribbons while on heavy medication.... needles are sharp

Good to see you survived the bloodletting,. : ) Do you think this hat is a Stratoliner copycat? That's what the jet makes me think of. Are you sure that one is a Stratoliner? The vintage ones I own are more akin to an Open Road with a thin ribbon and thin brim binding.Modern Stratoliner. Walked through a spiderweb getting down here to take these photos and it took me a half hour to clean up the mess. Got one more Strat for tomorrow and then I'll figure out what I want to wear next. I'm going through all my hats, wearing them all for a day, making sure I have them properly documented, figuring out which if any need to find new homes.

John Lofgren Monkey Boots Shinki Horsebuttt - $1,136 The classic monkey boot silhouette in an incredibly rich Shinki russet horse leather.
Grant Stone Diesel Boot Dark Olive Chromexcel - $395 Goodyear welted, Horween Chromexcel, classic good looks.
Schott 568 Vandals Jacket - $1,250 The classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket, in a very special limited-edition Schott double rider style. Nope, it's not. I was typing and not thinking lol. It's a Sovereign. I'm going to go back and edit the original post. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Are you sure that one is a Stratoliner? The vintage ones I own are more akin to an Open Road with a thin ribbon and thin brim binding.
Modern Stetson may have decided to reuse the name for a different style though...?
Crowns way lower that a Stratoliner ( particularly the older ones). Think its just one of the late 50s, early 60's Space and Jet craze. Ive got a few older Resistol short brim fedora models that are named after Commercial Jet Liners from the period. Different but cool in its own wayGood to see you survived the bloodletting,. : ) Do you think this hat is a Stratoliner copycat? That's what the jet makes me think of. Cool hat.
If this hat was still in it’s original size, I would buy it!!Alley Kat. Magnificent hat made with FEPSA Felt by Tim Mahovich. It feels and looks just as wonderful as any Optimo I ever owned. Wow.
