I reside in the Mpls/St.Paul, Minnesota area.

Morning temps have recently been dropping into the high 50'sf. Yesterdays high did not get to 80'f. Like everybody we have experienced the changing fluctuations in weather patterns. Generally we have cooler more moderate weather. 5-6 hours north, the Canadian border area, the temps have recently been dropping into the 40'sf. A couple days ago I visited Duluth, MN on Lake Superior (2.5 hours north). I needed a fleece jacket and a gortex parka top in the wind and cool. I went for a visit and to watch the bird migration. We saw well over 1,000 predator birds starting a migration. Fall is on our doorstep. I am looking forward to the first snow in mid to late October.

Charlotte is a pretty area of the US. Warmer than my region for sure. Not enough snow for my taste.

Cheers, Eric -
I moved from Chicago down south about 4 years ago and personally want nothing to do with snow anymore. Hope you enjoy your weather, it does give you plenty of opportunities to wear those great hats of yours!!

Have you ever like a hat so much you bought two of them? Admittedly, most would have no need to, but I bought two of these Guerra 1855 beaver felt hats so I can keep one in two locations. One of the best modern production hats I have found and no one knows them. I was lucky to find 2, in my size, within a couple of weeks of each other, for insanely low prices. Haven't seen them for sale since (outside of their website).

Good to see you posting again. I think of your & Simeon’s Highwayman often. What are you in the queue for?
Not quite sure yet. He’s 10 weeks out so there’s time to decide. I’m leaning toward the light weight beaver on a #52 block with a 5.5” open crown. My top colors are whiskey and pecan. MG is sending me some felt samples of whiskey, pecan, and Fawn in dress weight and light weight to look over. Whatever it will be, it will have town and country vibes.

This hat has, amazingly, been downsized some. It has been further altered to create a fedora shape. The brim has been trimmed to 2", presumably to eliminate damage that would have otherwise rendered the hat unwearable. Whoever did the brim and brim-ribbon work on this hat did a phenomenal job. It is very, very clean.

I personally wish I had the size back, as it's a little snug on me, and I personally wouldn't have altered a hat like this to size it down regardless.

Still, this is probably one of my coolest hats. It is very wearable, while not the original shape, it is a good looking hat, and it's my only Stetson One Hundred. Probably the only one I will ever own, unless something amazing drops on my head straight out of the sky.

I can understand your disappointment at the loss of its original size, but that is still an AWESOME hat.

Good morning. My morning dog soirée was enjoyed under the brim of a Stetson P l a y b o y .

This version has a 2 7/8 inch brim. Most of my other vintage versions have 2 1/2 inch brims. The pic below highlights my small hat size and me enjoying a big brim.

I enjoyed morning coffee as the temps climbed to the mid 60's f (16'c). A Stetson 7X was my silverbelly hat of choice.

I ran an errand and changed to a Dobbs Cross Country.

Best to all the hat wearing folks, Eric -
A stand-up triple of beauties, Eric, although in and of itself, the 7X CB is really a homer. Beautiful.
