I view them as a transition hat for wear in the shoulder season....between pure felt hat weather but not quite full Panama weather. Plus I think the combination makes for a great looking hat. You can either have a Panama straw on the crown or a milan straw.

I did look at the other hats this seller had available, and in my opinion the list prices are on the high side for the ones I do have some familiarity with - if this is accurate I assume it is intentional to allow some room to move, but again, I’m not the expert so…

I have four of them, all made a few years ago. I'll post pictures when i can. It's kind of funny, when you look at their website the Jackson hat is a design i requested from Mike a few years ago. Apparently he liked it so much he added it to his retail stable. So technically I have the first one. Kinda proud of that.
