I'm on vacation so even though this hat is being delivered today I have to wait until Monday evening to check it out. I've spent the last couple days trying to figure out exactly what I've bought... At first I thought it was a Stetson Tijuana that someone had the brim trimmed and sewn into an overwelt, but after digging around a bunch here I think it may actually be a Stetson Casual. I haven't seen this particular iteration on the Lounge but I think maybe it's represented in one of the Stetson ads for this style hat. Hard to say as they are hard to make out the details on.

Anyway, it's an interesting one... Whip stich self felted hat band and an overwelt brim treatment. Looks to be from the very late 40s/very early 50s as it appears to have an oilskin tip liner and also the earlier style reorder tag.

Will post more when I get home!

Thanks Jack! Yes, I’ve likely seen a dozen or more San Antonio‘s while watching for this one. Any of the city named Resistols I have owned are great hats and worth picking up IMO.

They were a little bit more expensive when new (labor on the pencil roll?) & weren’t often seen retail.

Waiting on this Stetson Clear Nutria. Open crown said to be about 6 1/2 inches and the brim is 3 1/2 inches. The hat was sold in Johannesburg, South Africa but is in England right now. The sweatband is rough and the hatband ribbon is missing, so it's a project, but looked interesting enough to justify. I think it dates no later than the mid 1920's because I haven't seen any of those round size stickers with a scalloped edge any later than that.
The seller just texted me that the hat belonged to her great grandfather.
