Help Identify This Vintage Roughout Leather Jacket (1930s or 1940s?)

Hi Everyone,

I recently came across this jacket on IG and I am trying to identify it (approximate production date, manufacturer, leather type). My initial thought is that it could be from the 1930s or 1940s, but I am not certain.

It has Talon zippers, roughout leathe, so I was wondering if it could possibly have been a CHP jacket based on design, though that's just a guess.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Cheers,
Nikola

very interesting jacket. I don't recall ever seeing a roughout Police jacket. Not from the 30s more likely late 40s early 50s.

It is a curious jacket in roughout, with a tab back like a trucker jacket, the slanted front pockets may be a clue. Standard badge holder and button cuffs typical of a police jacket.

Many makers made a front zip police jacket, some big some small local makers.

Cool jacket!

Looks like a 60' early 70's law enforcement motorcycle jacket to me. Maybe by Star gloves & leather or Golden bear. Don't see those very often lol.

I believe it’s by Star Glove, I’ve seen a few versions by them with this reverse pocket slant design.

These 2 look most similar, no belt loops. I look for a "western" yoke on the back. Interesting to see the back on these two. this black has a shirt collar like the roughout.

I don't get this side zippers. I do have something very similar on a late 40s Blatt police jacket. they did do some with one adjustment, the second on mine was aftermarket. There is a California Sportswear Aviator from the late 40s with side zip. I'm sure there were others, but uncomman.

The zipper on the back picture is not original, the other side zipper was done at the same time. Those are 50s zippers by the back. I can't discern the main zipper make, it appears to be a 50s zipper.

It is very interesting jacket no matter the year or make.

The more I look at the back, I like it. Too me, like the back of a trucker style jacket. Straight back yoke, simple hem, with adjustment tabs, very square and basic.

Do you know what size this jacket is?
