Jacket looks amazing! I am thinking about something similar.

I have a question, though: are the Japanese Aero jackets different from Aeros in the West? I mean--I am about the same size as you: would I have to order from Japan to get a similar fit? Thanks so much!
Chris
Hey Chris,

Yes, STFs are 'different', in the sense compared to non-STF regular version. But in itself this is a moot point given STFs are technically JDM exclusive.

STFs do pop up from time to time on Aero website under ready stock, from samples, returns or cancelled orders.

The rest of Aero Japan's fairly limited range should be the same sizing as Aero UK / Thurston.

For what its worth, I wouldn't recommend buying them sight unseen.. best you fly there and make a holiday out of it.. and pick up some raw denim, workwear, boots, and drink vulgar amount of Nikka / Yamazaki while you're at it.

Cheers.

Hey Pferdeleder--Thanks for your reply! It helps me understand the situation a bit better. I guess I had thought that the JDM STFs might correspond to the Aero Premier Highwayman and 1930s Halfbelt fit--slim and close to the body. But I guess they are different.

The fact that they are JDM makes it easier set the SFTs aside (until I make my way to Japan!!!)

How is your jacket going?
Chris
