As long as it's dry we ride.
When it rains it can RAIN.
Sub tropical dumps feature after cyclonic events. Roads dangerously slippy. Don't leave the home garage in those forecasts.
Occasional winter frost on the car in the morning, gone by 9.30.
This particular Sunday morning is as foggy as.
Most of the year it's fine for riding.
I rode near daily (if dry) to work for over 20 years.
Now I (we) ride purely for fun.
Your snow looks lovely, but not for me no sirree !

Wow, sounds fantastic. Florida? I normally hit Europe once a year, South of Germany, Austria in the Alps. You could normally expect super weather in July/August. But lately the weather pattern has gone berserk. Last year in Garmisch-Partenkirchen temperatures fluctuated from 8C and fog to 32C. On the way down from Calais to Munich it rained all day and was cold end of July. 5 days later in Hungary and Romania was 36/38C. I was prepared, so I had heated jacket and a cool down jacket. But the extreme temperatures variations were surprising.

Perth Western Australia.
Described as a "Mediterranean" climate. Probably "similar" to Southern California. We do have mild wet winters.

Cool day ride for us.
Our favourite Greek owned coastal cafe famous amongst bikers.
Often our meeting spot, like today, before a coastal run south 50 K's.

Wet (winter) weekend forecast this week so a midweek ride had to be !
90K's loop ride north.
11C on departure, 20 on the home leg.
3 layer day. No wind.
In short a wonderful day for aircooled motorcycles, they run real good in these conditions.
All Harleys today, even tho' many of our riding crew own various Jappers, Enfields etc.
Today was a 90Km/H cruise with a leg of "110Km/H" on the country stretch.
I was remarking that during the COVID lockdown excess, that this route today was as far as we could venture from home. Appears overly draconian in hindsight.

Quick riding question;

One of the lovely things about riding here in the UK is the immediate camaraderie with other riders. Everyone gives you a nod or a wave - big GS riders, 125 learners, old Triumphs, big cc supersports. Everyone.

Likewise I always acknowledge another rider and feel a twinge of embarrassment if I miss giving someone a nod for whatever reason.

The one exception to this friendly "rule" seems to be Harley riders, and I've no idea why. I'll give my usual nod or wave and every single time the Harley rider rumbles on past stony faced. And I know that they're stony faced because they'll be wearing an open faced helmet so I can see.

This happens here in the UK, and I'm sure it doesn't mean that HD riders are grumpy or aloof or unfriendly - but I can't figure out why it is.

UK riders, is this just me? UK Harley riders, do you think this is true? If so, why does it happen?

I'm not trying to start anything btw, I love Harleys the same as all sorts of other bikes. And apologies if I shouldn't be asking this sort of thing here, but I'm not on any other forums so have no one else to ask.

Harley riders in the US typically don’t wave unless you’re riding a Harley and then it’s prob 50/50. My suspicion is they’re typically playing tough guy or hd is the only brand worth riding. Fwiw i HATE the wave. On a nice day here you’ll pass 100 riders. Wave wave wave wave? It’s ridiculous. I ‘ve always felt this way. I mean, “hey we both like motorcycles” so when i go to a restaurant and see another guy order the same thing i should give a big thumbs up. I have a ford bronco and some other bronco owners have started doing the wave. It’s my car fella not my identity.
Anyhow, rant over. I just sold my bike. 1st time without one in 31 years. I think i may be done.

I am 67 myself.
Mind you the Australian climate is conducive.
Regarding the "wave" thing, not really big in Oz, probably the number of bikes on the road.
Come the coffee/beer/burger stops it's all friendly chat.
Except me.
I'm the grumpy cNut haha...

I know you're right regards the harley riders uk,I owned my dyna for around 25years,wave/nodded to everyone, even a friendly chat to other riders at stops etc.went to a couple of HoG ride outs early in my ownership, surprised to be told not to acknowledge other riders not on harley davidson!!! Wtf,most of these guys were riding new sportsters, brand new biking gear, all harley of course.i quickly realised these "rideouts" weren't for me.riding through the centre of Glasgow with flags flying at 20mph,,fk that, flew solo after that and really enjoyed the ownership. I still nodded to harley riders, mostly they don't respond ,I smile and just think they're jealous:)
