I’m boring. Same hat as yesterday. When it’s dialed in, it’s dialed in. Hard to prove with a selfie, but I feel like I grew up out of the ground underneath this one. This is my hat.

If I could order one from Art today, I might add a splash of color to the bow, but the understated chill of this one is growing on me. The ribbon isn’t why it’s my hat. The shape is - it just looks correct in the mirror.

Hi! It's been a while.

I own over 600 hats, and have decided to sell most. I live in Mexico City, and the cost of shipping by DHL or Fedex is high, so I plan to visit my new grandson in NJ in about a month, take some of my hats with me, and leave them in my son's home to be shipped to buyers after I leave.

Hello all,

I thought I’d share a few of the hats I’ve worn over the past couple of weeks during my recent misadventures.

Two weeks ago, I was out walking with my young horse. The plan was to ride later in the trip, but we never made it that far. Something in the forest — most likely a wild pig — startled her. I have three clear snapshots in my mind: turning around to see her tense up, being dragged face‑down along the ground, and then staring up at a bright blue sky through the trees. That’s when I realised something was very wrong with my right arm.

I phoned my wife, who managed to find the horse, and then I called for an ambulance. Long story short: I had broken my arm a few centimetres below the ball of the shoulder.

Since I had planned to ride, I was wearing my Back on Track riding helmet with MIPS. Judging by the scratches and dirt on it, the helmet definitely did its job before the horse and I parted ways. It was also the hat I wore in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.



After X‑rays and a CT scan, the doctor did what he could to improve the position of the bone, and I was sent home with some very effective painkillers and instructions to return for surgery.

A week later, on Tuesday, I went back for the operation. For the trip I wore my Lock & Co. Traveler. It’s a very practical hat — I can roll it up and stuff it into a rucksack pocket. Probably not ideal for the hat, but very convenient for me. The lines and creases are from the previous owner, who clearly kept it rolled up in it's tube for far too long, and I haven’t yet put in the effort to work them out. I also wore the Traveler on Wednesday when I was discharged.



During the operation, I had an allergic reaction to penicillin. I’m not entirely sure how severe it was, but it was serious enough that the hospital called me back yesterday to leave a blood sample and I'm returning next week for allergy tests. For that journey, I wore my green Borsalino — a hat that has quickly become my wife’s favourite. She now criticises most of my other hat choices. It’s perhaps my most beat‑up and dirty hat, so it’s often the one I wear to and from work during the colder, wetter months to and from work.



Whilst in hospital I found, bid on and won a Mayser hat, I'll look to put some picture of that up soon and hopefully I can get a little more information on that from the knowledgeable people here.

Headed to the barber shop this morning.

Optimo upbrim fedora with a center dent. Very Homburg-adjacent - at least that’s how it feels to me. like a taupe/dove gray color with a lighter sort of silverish ribbon. This one doesn’t have a sticker inside the sweatband. Not sure which model it is.

Been a big Paterson and Lawson fan for years. To me Banjo Paterson is a more enjoyable read.... mainly a positive note to his writing. Henry Lawson is a well written story but tends to have dark overtones

By the way an Akubra Lawson was my first Akubra many moons ago
