Now THAT is cool. What's a modern jacket brand/style that would age similar to these pics?
I suppose many high end japanese makers are trying to emulate this , sometimes with very good results. It's tempting to say that in the end, nothing is better than "the real thing", but who knows? Maybe Langlitz (who's big in Japan) took some cues from japanese makers to achieve what is seen in the picture. There's some kind of positive competition going on here that reminds me of what happened in cinema in the early 1960's. Up to then, Japanese filmakers like Akira Kurosawa had been admiring american filmakers like John Ford, and applied some of the western tropes to the samurai film (conversely, John Ford also admired Kurosawa). Suddenly, a new generation decided to push the envelope, making extremely stylised (and violent) samurai films that blew the minds of filmakers all around the world. Sergio Leone was one of them, and he took inspiration from the japanese to invent his own take on the genre that would be known as the spaghetti western.

Great, unexpected answer. Thanks!

Not an Eaglesons. Those were made by American Sportswear. As you can see on the jacket below, it has the American Sportswear leather label. Same one you see on the Durable copies.

And here’s the American Sportswear version. Same details. Note the uniquely shaped badge holder.

Not many other CHPs with a double stitch around the pockets. Doesn’t look like a Lewis Leather Holsters to me. My guess would be Brooks.

Just seen this Reddit post, 3mm horsehide Carol Christian Poell coat:

https://www.reddit.com/r/leatherjacket/comments/1vnw3hq
It looks amazing, but can't imagine it being comfortable. Looks like something Goku would wear and then remove once the fight gets tough and suddenly be moving at lightspeed without it.

I'm glad to hear you like it!

It's comfortable. Leather clothes by Carol Christian Poell are of the tier I mentioned in another thread, one that is to Real McCoy what Real McCoy is to Hot Leathers. This isn't to put RMC down as RMC does a fantastic job at what they do but the tailoring that goes into any such CCP piece is on a whole different level that isn't compatible to what RMC does.

Regardless of whether it speaks to you as a piece of art, Poell's clothes are primarily that - clothes. Clothes intended to be worn. The first thing I learned with CCP is that no matter how gimmicky something looks, wearability was never compromised.

This particular coat is a part of a whole outfit. It is available only per special order by one of CCP retailers & they make them in batches of three or four. Or one. It depends. I hated it at first & now I cannot live without it. I can but is it really living? But I don't have 30 grands to casually drop on clothes.

It isn't 3 mm thick, though. 2.2 at most. It's made from an in-house sourced & tanned horse hide termed CORSS which is the thickest horse hide Poell uses. It is a true 2+ mm leather which is insanely thick but it isn't 3 mm.

The guy has it hanging from literally the worst wire hangers money can buy.

It gets worse. Much worse. Every CCP garment comes with this hanger which is just a piece of wire with detachable plastic "shoulders". They're literally the exact same hangers any half-decent dry-cleaners includes with your clean clothes when you pick it up.

At one point, I had six of them because I had to return a couple of jackets that I bought due to sizing issues & each time I forgot to include the hangers. Mostly because they are so insignificant but partially because I didn't want them anywhere near any of the garments because of the sharp, sticking wire end.
Being an "Official" CCP merchandise, I did keep them for a while even though I never once used them until I eventually threw them away and forgot all about it until I realized that there are people paying money for them. This one guy on Discord was paying $100 for one. And I had six!

@Monitor was probably the previous owner, or will be the next one.

Neither but I actually have an even better thing. ;)
