I’ve been on the fence about posting these since I love them, but the fit hasn’t been working for me.
Up for sale is a pair of Guidi Horsebutt 1930s style Engineer boots made by Attractions. Shape wise, these are somewhat between a Roper and an Engineer, with a sleek unstructured toe-box that will collapse and roll. The vamp and heel cup are a single cut of leather.
Texture wise, these leather on this pair is quite soft and supple, closer to how a steerhide would feel rather than a horsebutt, but still retaining all the rolling potential. I can already tell from the initial wears I’ve put in that there will be no creasing for this pair. Unfortunately for me, the suppleness of Guidi Horsebutt means that even on the tightest hole, these are a tad too loose for my instep. I would recommend these to a high volume 8.5E brannock or a medium volume 9D/E.
The insole on these is partially broken in, but can definitely still be moulded to your foot. I don’t weigh much (160lbs) and walk softly, so the imprints are rather shallow still. The outsole and welt are also in amazing condition, with only some minor wear on the back of the heel. I am the first owner and have worn these for maybe 20 miles total.
These retail in the US for $1300, and in Japan for $875. However, you’d be paying overseas shipping and duties, which would bring you up to around $1050 (not to mention these sold out in less than a few hours on the attractions site). I’m asking for $600 shipped PPF&F or add 3% for G&S. No box, no bags(didn’t come with them).
