Finally back at the office on Clearwater for a spell. Lots to catch up on (and work too!)

Left this morning in a basic Dobbs Palomar gray straw. I Received one straw among the many fur hats awaiting my arrival. We'll clean up and show what we can View attachment 782689 View attachment 782690

Nice! I picked up a Dobbs Rosebud in the lilac shade from eBay a few weeks ago. Got it for a fraction of retail (I'm guessing it's not a popular hue), looking forward to giving it an outing in July. Always been impressed with the quality/ value of the Dobbs hats I've handled.

These Dobbs hats are nice practical hats, that can be gotten for a song in some great colors too.

I found this old cowboy hat on ebay for about $70 and steamed it up best I could. The brim is 4.5 inches, which is the widest ive ever owned. It's more or a cowboy / fedora hybrid but it's got great patina and fit my 7 3/8 head well. Not sure about the maker or age but reckon 1960's maybe 70's?

The past several days have been a little too exciting, stressful for me but likely much worse for the deer. Unfortunately the car is totaled. Fortunately, I’m fine but for a bit of whiplash. The hats in my car survived.
The ones I wore were my Texas Hatters Brisa weave Cuenca bowler, Resistol OR clone, Hornskov custom and my Nathaniel’s Hatters Rio Grande in steel blue. View attachment 782389 View attachment 782390 View attachment 782391 View attachment 782392 View attachment 782393
Glad to hear you're all right, Jeff. Great parade of hats again from you.

F. Witzleben Leipzig, possibly 1920s. There is no company mark on the paper label but probably sourced. The Felt color is fantastic and the contrasting Band and Brim Binding work superbly with the Felt color. Also the F. Witzleben Leipzig company Crest is impressive on the Liner and Sweatband. I found this Stiff Felt back in 2013.

I'm inconsistent here. I'm sorry, because I have a lot of commitments and new hats to show you.

I can definitely say that between late 2025 and 2026, I was lucky enough to find and purchase a small batch of Panizza hats finished with long hair.

This is the latest arrival and fits me perfectly.
This time, the manufacturing instructions don't seem to have been applied; there's only a note on the lining that says: A86 Toppe 2 "It was probably made for the shop."

Panizza is the Italian manufacturer of finished furs hats par excellence, in the sense that the only ones with a consistent presence on the vintage markey are theirs.

This one has a medium-hair felt, with very fine brims and a much more solid crown.

The color is the one you see in thist photo. I hope to find more.
My compliments to you all for your daily parade of hats. They are my delight!
Very cool find, Daniele. That ribbon treatment is one you don't see often. I had one of those, but can't recall the brand.

Going to be another wet day.. good time for a hat that doesnt care. This one was once a big Stetson "Gus" before a goat chewed a 1" chunk out of the brim, a tractor ran over it and had hydraulic fluid sprayed over it lol.. All things considered it cleaned up fairly well. Threw on a panama cloth band that was laying around and it now has a definatly more casual vibe... sort of a western-ish stingy brim. This one usually lives in the truck just in case foul weather puts a nicer hat at risk. Everyone should have at least one rough wear hat handy

Jimmy, I'm NOT really an authority on this, and if I'm wrong, hopefully others will chime in and correct me. However.....my research leads me to believe that although Beaver Brand advertised themselves as being the last incarnation of Langenberg Hats, this was a rather disingenuous bit of marketing obfuscation. Langenberg ceased making hats in the very late 1990’s and was dissolved as a company in 2000. Its stock of supplies and equipment were purchased by a completely different entity, which began making hats under the Beaver Brand name and label, lasting until 2012. Again, this is not writ in stone, but is my current understanding of the real circumstances of Langenberg-to-Beaver.

Thank you, i'll tell you what, I know it says rabbit fur inside but it sure does feel alot similar to some my higher end beaver stetsons that I own. It certainly very well made and for the price I purchased it for, I'm super happy!
