Ah, nice! I like the look of those. How is the fabric though? I have the USMC pants and the cotton has a weird, cheap heavy cardboard feel even after a dozen washes.

maybe semi off topic but people wanting a thousand bucks for their china/indo boots is hilarious to me.

didn't they originally gain popularity as an affordable alternative to western boots?

They were never cheap nor the budget option. Or perhaps they were the budget MTO option, but still being rather expensive. IIRC, boots like Sagara or Benzein/Brisselblack were never below 500. Edit: For context, RM Williams were 300-350€ back then. Doc Martens 100-150.

The budget options when it came to boots have been Thursdays, Blkbrd (might have written it wrong) and I would also place Meermin and Grant Stone in that category.

Did someone say Indo boots? I’ve been wearing the Brisselblacks a bit (though my lifestyle is pretty sedate). The Sagaras are virtually unworn, but that Badalassi is going to break in beautifully and look amazing with this jacket (zoom for the laser straight Norwegian storm welt)..

1943 British Army pants in JG

I picked up a used pair of the 'denim' (feels more like HBT than any 'denim' jeans you'd think of) BD trousers last Summer. Very similar to these, expect they require braces and don't have the in-built 'belt'. Great for the hot weather when I'm forced out of a jacket and that big map pocket on the thigh comes into its own.

I also at a time had a pair of these:

I removed and simplified the button arrangement for civilian wear (I also wore braces with these, though you can get away without them in the right size). No map pocket, but worked equally well with a collar and tie at work and at home kicking about.

Been having fun putting some miles on these Zerrows Pecos boots. Not much breaking in required, they were extremely comfortable out of the box, and virtually no heel slip at all. Id love to try more Zerrows stuff but it seems pretty limited in supply, at least in my country.

My Corcoran tankers arrived yesterday and I've been wearing them.

As I hoped they do fit and wear like a lace up which is nice.
As expected from Corcoran, they're constructed durably enough but there's always some minor sloppy f&f.
They're a military boot after all, as I understand it these aren't truly issued but can be purchased by a tanker who qualifies and they do often have these purchased for them.

It’s not unsuitable, but:
- half a size larger to fit well with thick warm socks
- has a massive sole to deal with snow and mud and a stormwelt to keep my feet dry even when walking in snow and mud

I just picked the same boot recently as well. Great boot! Yours are breaking in nicely, looking forward to mine looking as good as yours are!
