What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Here is a Borsalino Gorasgu found in Buffalo and sold at The Kleinhans - one of the country's prominent menswear retailers for 100 years. The sweatband is not original to the hat and was likely replaced during a renovation at the store. The owner's delegate card for the International Photo Engravers Union was tucked behind the sweatband. Fred Bickel lived in Buffalo from 1887 to 1981.

(Looking at the manufacturing tag while posting, it appears the ribbon is a replacement too... originally black. Didn't catch that when I first acquired this hat a decade ago.)

J. Hückel´s Söhne "Jota" "Seal Velour", possibly late 1930s. The Velour is fantastic (color, finish, hand) and very pliable. This Velour was one of a nine hat find that I made back in 2021.

J. Hückel´s Söhne Promotional Pocket Mirror, possibly mid to late 1930s. I found this Pocket Mirror back in 2022.

One is already a great find, but nine! The stuff dreams are made of.

After the series of fur hats worn in the previous months, I'm changing the rotation and moving on to hats for the transitional seasons.

This and the others we'll see are part of a group that have been in the works for some time.

They arrived a few months ago and are now ready for their journey.

Wegener size 59 cm, lightweight, lined. The felt is light weight, quite malleable.
Gray with a blue undertone, with a low, matching band and brims hemmed in the same color.

I'm very happy to have them on hand after such a long time, and we're starting the meteorological spring with them in the first week of March, gray and humid in this part of Italy.

Have a nice day everyone, and congratulations on your hats.
When Wegener got hem right they were up there with the best of them! Beautiful hat, Daniele.

The first two pictures are my new Akubra Cattleman in sand that I wore on our school trip to Melbourne. The following two are my Stratoliner that I wore today for grocery shopping.
And here is Etsuko, Wakayama (out of Osaka)
