They are close. They’re just a thick sock fit and i was hoping for a thin for summer boots. If they don’t sell i wont be heartbroken. Its a case of letting perfect be the enemy of very good.

Haven't worn these too much since I got them (my earthy brown/green boots have been my default for a while), but it's a great pairing for my new-to-me black jacket. I've had a tough time figuring out which kind of laces and color I like best on them, but I think I'll stick with these leather ones.

ALden has some haters these days, but their shell is nice and thick on the boots I have.
This is because of their subpar attention to detail and finishing. Although some of their prominant haters have never handled a pair.
I own many many horween shell cordovan boots and belts from three similarly priced brands: Crockett n Jones, Alden and Carmina. The best ones are C&J. The worse are Carmina- by far.

My aldens are really comfortable I do agree on the details and finishing.
