Any FL member here own a Stetson Redwood straw hat? It's an OR clone of sorts, although not labeled as an OR by Stetson. This is why I posted about it here. 4.5" cattleman crease crown and 3" brim. I just placed an order for one in deep burgundy red color. I will update this thread once it comes in. Could be a nice straw "other" OR to wear this summer. More info to follow.

Update on that Stetson Redwood: Not what I expected. Wonky appearance, straw not uniform, and the crown was too low. So not an OR clone. Please disregard my prior post. The search continues for an "other" OR for me.

Hi FL Members!

So I found an ‘other’ Open Road for my collection! Serratelli Clayton 4X in Pecan. 4X Fur Felt, Made in USA. Great hat in an OR style! Raw edge, with a felt ribbon, western style. It may not qualify for the Other OR list here, but I wanted to present it to y’all as I’m excited about my new hat. Very nice hat in an awesome color!

Here's a Resistol I picked up last week. Guessing it's a San Antonio based on the 5 3/4"" open crown and 2 5/8" brim to the best of my ability to measure.

Based on some other people's comments about the Byer-Rolnick designation dropping off after 1968, and the lettering on the Three X being very similar to the hat made for the Governor of Alaska that's posted in this thread I figure it dates to mid-late 60s.

It's in great shape, but very dusty. Debating leaving it the way it is or rebashing it to a diamond after cleaning it well. The felt is definitely moldable, but I think it was stored in its cattleman crease for a while because it really likes that right now!

I'd say the close up of the sweatband shows the true color of the felt, it's more of a stone color silverbelly than tan.

"The Nebraskan" by Resistol. This isn't my hat but I wanted to add it to the list. Since Nebraska is my home state I would love to have one in 7 1/4 or 7 3/8 should anyone see one, I would appreciate hearing from you. They were made for the Nebraska Centennial in 1967.

Possibly Stetson’s version from 1967. Just “Nebraskan” and no direct reference to the centennial. 5” open crown, 2-1/4” brim.

I know this model was already listed, but I recently picked up a Resistol Waco X Double X in Canyon color. It has the Byers Rolnick label on the liner, so it at least dates to the late '60's.

Does anyone know when Resistol started the XDoubleX felt? Unfortunately, this isn't my size and I'm letting it go.

Where are you selling it? And for how much?

I picked up this Resistol San Antonio Beaver "25" a while back. Size 7-1/4" and still measures out to that size. It is absolutely gorgeous and in fantastic shape. I wouldn't have been able to tell it had been worn much if some of the lettering hadn't worn off.
