Panizza Homburg - love this hat

@jeffgarf brought it to my attention - thanks Jeff - it's 7 3/8, and it actually fits, which was a surprise for an older hat, to be honest.

I'm still figuring out how I want to wear it - I think just a clean center dent, most likely. It's a hair snug. When I get the center dent shaped the way I like it in my hands, it looks great - then I put it on my head and I kind of pull it into more of a teardrop shape.

Very fine felt - very easy to shape, and very easy to unshape. : ) I love a nice homburg.

Too bad about the size. Looks like it would shape up nicely.

Bought this Rockel homburg. I was thrilled to receive it. It has a sizetag of 58, but this turned out to be more like a size 56. So way too small for my head unfortunally. Shape, color, form, felt, everything was nice on it. I contacted Stefan @steur and now this beauty is on it's way to him. Bad luck for me this time! But happy for Stefan.

Resistol Pre 1983 4X Beaver Sz 7. Gave it a brush, wiped with damp cloth & conditioned sweat band. Excellent Cond. Felt feels really lush, fine & velvety!
A little big but just a hare but should work in fine with wear & a corrective steam. My style 3 1/2 inch brim. Very useful style. A lot of black came off initially with a damp wipe. Suppose it's some dye or residual dust? Hat looks to be very clean for it's age. I'll probably give it a light vacuum but it's truly immaculate inside & no scent at all.

Oh, Winners Circle Maneca CA... it's back home. Very pleased.

Ooops, I did it again. Should be wearing the Resistol Black 3X but saw 2 new size 7 Resistol 20X Jaxon & 10X (both w leather sweat bands) for $100 w free shipping. Put on my 20X Conley & it's just so light & comfy that I had to have another & the 10X can be a work hat.

The 10X has some dark scuffing but the 20X Jaxon looks like new. They look like they have leather hat bands too not cloth.

Oh boy but free shipping & it's returnable if something goes really bad. The 20X retails for over $200 so guess it's a decent deal.

Got this hat in yesterday. This is a maker been interested in for a while, and I'm happy to have found one on the secondary market.

The eBay listing described it as a 100% rabbit/hare blend, and I have no reason to doubt it. The felt is a little stiffer than I prefer, but it's still obviously a quality hat. I'd like to handle one of their 100% beaver hats someday to compare.

One thing that surprised me is that it doesn't naturally hold a deep, sharp pinch. That's interesting because it looks much more defined in the photos on their website.

I really like the tall crown, the wide ribbon, and the ribbon/felt color combination. The large double bow is a nice touch, and I like the dark liner too.

I think this is the first hat I own that's blocked noticeably higher in the front, and I like that for a little variety.

It doesn’t have a sweatband bow. Seems like an odd design choice. Also, there's a slight texture change over the stitch line that I don't remember seeing on other hats. If anyone knows what causes that, I'd love to hear. Maybe a coating meant to protect the stitches, or a slight scuffing of the material from the sewing machine?

I'll post one of Hufvud's photos of the Ragnar at the bottom for comparison. Curious what you guys think.

I've got four of Mikael's hats, and they are a pleasure. I did spray each lightly with distilled water (steam will work) to make the front pinch a little more dramatic... just to suit my personal tastes.

My two 50% beaver hats are noticeably softer than the 100% rabbit/hare.

Blackity-black. Black on black. This is probably the blackest hat I own.

I didn't care for the ribbon in the before picture. This is a vast improvement. I always like wind cords. The Hornskov pleated liner is a detail that I appreciate. The leather sweat is very thin and soft - not sure what, if any, implications this has as to quality, but it seems thinner than most of mine.

Hornskov by Sam Not sure what model it started life as - I wish these guys would print the model name under the sweat where applicable. Oh well. Cool hat. Thanks Sam.

An old Thibet from France. My first Thibet. Great felt, without steam easily to shape and also a nice ribbon edge stitchwork on it. Color is very dark blue and it has good proportions. Like this one!

That's a really nice find.

By the liner design and font on the sweat and liner, I'd say it's an early Hornskov. They've only been in existence for 11 years, so early is relative.

Send a mail to Hornskov Hats with photos. I'm sure they'd be able to help with the original name of the hat. Peter and Catherine are always very helpful.
