Modern Stetson Excellent quality.

Some of these hats owned by other loungers (such as @hatsRme) say "Pure Beaver" on the sweatband. Mine does not, but I don't know if that means it is not pure beaver.

Whatever it is made of, it's a great hat that came with a not-so-great ribbon and bow. I finally replaced all that with a pugaree and am happy enough with the results for now.

The brim of this hat will do anything I ask it to do, no steam necessary. Its versatility and the robustness of the felt make it a favorite work hat.

Speaking of work, the last two weeks have been a wonderful winter holiday for me with lots of time off, but tomorrow I will be back at the job regularly. I hope everyone's 2026 is starting off in a fantastic way.

Thanks, Simeon! The brim is 2 3/4". I had Michael to make his rendition of a vintage OR. 5 1/2" open crown. Blocked on #52. Natural dress weight. Trimmings are called Commando, which is a shade of brown.

Stetson Imperial. I have always referred to this as a "Sportsman," but now I can't remember where I got that. There are no other markings with that designation. Perhaps I saw an old ad on here or something.

Woot!!!! New year, new snow, and some new hats!! MOST awesome! For me, #1 is a tie between the two newbies, the Peschel and the Portis. I'll be honest, both of them took that slot on the basis of their INCREDIBLE hatbands! Second place goes to the Borsalino, and third to the Tirard. Looking forward to an incredible 2026 with you, Stefan!

Another afternoon/evening of travel, today in a Mallory Aristocrat (post-Stetson). Had the sweatband removed due to dry rot and my man, Travis, at B.M. Franklin handled the replacement. Great job, as always.

Wearing this dark olive color one today. Sold by, and seemingly made by, Azevedo Rua, the oldest hatters in Portugal. I figured I couldn't go wrong with a Portuguese fur felt. What I can't tell is if they made it in shop. They seem to only sell production hats now, but this seems to be a modern one labeled only as theirs. Great hat though.
