My interactions of late on TFL have not been as congenial as I would like them to be. I am slowing down my participation until I find better equilibrium within myself.

I am enjoying the hat parade however, and will contribute today with this JBS Twenty that I believe is from the late 50s.

A 2-3/8 brim is a real sweet spot for my head size.

You are not wrong, Mark. The hat and blazer that I wore to church today looks positively unimaginative by comparison.
The hat was made for me by Gamble & ***n, it tops off a Samuel Windsor blazer. Cordwainer Colin Johnson was the artisan with the shoes and my good lady made the trousers and shirt.
The blazer isn't in the "In Your Face," league, but it did have more than a few kind compliments at church this morning.

I was trying on a new winter jacket and wore a Mallory fedora. It is warm. (64'f and the jacket is warm - not surprising Captain Obvious. The fit works). Love this $8.95 hat.

This Cavanagh fedora was born in a pivotal moment in U.S. history—crafted in the final years of the Great Depression as America tried to dance away its troubles to the sound of swing. Picture Benny Goodman’s clarinet blaring “Sing, Sing, Sing” in packed ballrooms while ordinary folks, still recovering from breadlines and New Deal struggles, tipped their fedoras with pride. Indeed, this very hat could have sat on a head reading headlines about Europe sliding into war—an ominous prelude to the role America would soon play in WWII. Through it all, Cavanagh kept turning out hats that were symbols of both style and dignity in uncertain times.

Yesterday: we had some friends from D.C. come thru the PNW while touring the U.S. national parks -The "Open Road" seemed appropriate.
