I was going to pull out an older 3x Open Road this morning, But Timmy beat me to the punch lol. So rather than cause Open Road Overload, I reached for the ol' Knox 15.

It was a sad little thing when it got here with moth nibbles all over, nasty looking ribbon and a totally deteriorated sweatband. Got it cleaned and smoothed out a bit, Recycled a older wider ribbon that perfectly covers up a half dozen bad moth holes in the crown, and added a new sweatband and liner. even salvaged the Knox 15 embossed logo from the old sweat and affixed it up inside the new liner so I know what it is LOL. Beautifully soft felt. One of my favorite "Mutt" hats

I dearly love putting old beaters back back out in the sun

Morning errands are all run, and Ive already sweat-soaked one shirt. Since I had to change anyway, figured Id go ahead and pull one of the 3x Open Roads on to show off the bright blue sky and exploding Crepe Myrtle bushes ( they were all green day before yesterday) .. Guess all the rain and heat HAS has some benefit.

Enjoying it while I can... more thunderstorms moving n this afternoon

Looks fantastic together. I'm pretty sure bespoke was the only way you could go if the blazer came first.

Looks like we finally have about a week and a half of mostly dry weather coming up. Big Saharan dust cloud blowing over this weekend... Guess Ill be picking out a couple tan/brown hats out to match.

Today the lid of choice is a 3x Stetson Montez project hat. ( genuine 3x stetson wool lol) Nothing special about the hat... just an inexpensive wonkey brim ebay hat that I picked up so I could learn how to do brim curls. Flattened the brim, got the wrinkles smoothed, and beat some of the wonkey bits out. Did a 1/2" curl and and worked in just a bit of down swoop in front and back. One of my favorite cheap hats

Proof positive a purple Borsalino works just fine to run some errands. I have a purple Champ sitting here waiting for just that kind of special occasion.
