It's Whippet Wednesday down here @ Rock Bottom & I'm decked out in one of my latest additions. This one differs from all the other Whippets I have because this one came with a wind cord. One other thing that sets it apart from all but one I own is the way the trailing ends of the bow rise above the hatband. Makes for a more dramatic effect to my eye ! This is also the only one I have with the Long Oval stamp on the sweatband . Hope y'all have a good 'un !

Man its been wet an noisy here all day... Big thunderstorms and heavy rain. For three of four hours we lost power briefly about every 15 minutes after a big lightning strike ( everytime it goes out it takes 10 minutes for the satellite system to restart so Ive been offline most of the day lol). Waded out through the backyard sogginess in between thunderheads to get todays pics.

Definately a day to leave the nice hats inside. Too warm and humid for a good ol Akubra, so today one of the modest Stetson straws gets the duty. This one is one of my regular lawn mowing lids. Not the softest hat Ive got by far, but it looks decent even when a bit sweatty or wet. Cant wait to get some blue sky back! Grey skies teasing little blue spots only to turn black over and over again so far today.

Stay dry and cool everyone

Thought id give an older (late 50s?) Royal Stetson a run outside this morning. Wide brim binding steers me toward it being a Whipettish looking little thing, but nothing on the sweatband and the liner was missing when I got it.... so its just a decent older Royal. Definitely has some serious mileage on it, but the felt is smooth and soft, its nicely shapable, and the sweatband is in decent shape... so its a good wearing hat

Going to be another warm humid day, so Im sure Ill be transitioning into straw soon after my first morning outing
