Good Saturday folks. Yesterday I was able to sport an unlined felt for a dog soirée. A Stetson ******* was my choice.

Back home in the late day light enjoying a walkabout in a 50-60's Stetson Milan. I enjoy gazing at the weave of the milan warm weather hats. This relatively newer hat was a terrifically durable sweat. Not to mention a very styl'n puggaree. I like the milans in the 80'f heat.

I got started Saturday nearly at 6:00am in the 79'f heat. Warm. A Stetson panama was my hat choice for an early morning start. My dog soirée was pleasant under the airy panama hat.

I took time this morning to appreciate the beauty of the weave of the panama fedora.

I enjoyed some cold brew under the brim of an Ecuadorian Panama Hat company milan. This is the most special milan I have at my house. Dynamite quality.

I waited til the polite 9:00am time to cut the lawn. A Sunbody was my choice for a hot weather work hat. I watered it before and during my lawn chores. My head felt cool while I was hot.

I cleaned up and treated myself to an adult beverage after my outside chores. A PHD Monti was an enjoyable straw hat choice. I enjoy wearing this light hat and seeing the spectacular weave. We have seen the videos of the weavers working the hat blanks and appreciate the craftsmanship and effort. I am very fortunate to wear such a piece of craftsmanship.

As with all non-commissioned hats there are details that I would like to change. On the whole - dynamite.

Cheers this Saturday, Eric -
What a gorgeous variety of beautiful straws, Eric. And the ******* was nothing to sneer at, either!

Going out with family to celebrate my big 5-0, I went with this Royal Deluxe Stetson 3-ply.

This is one of my favorite blocks on any hat and it fits me perfectly as is - which is unfortunately sans sweatband. I only wear this on very special occasions.

If the fit with a leather sweat is potentially a sizing issue, Ill bet you could sew in an 1-1/2" grosgrain ribbon in as a sweat. The Modern polyester grosgrain doesnt seem to have issues with dye running. Would finish the interior a bit and not change the size

Akubra stopped offering the Cedar Brown Campdraft Deluxe during the pandemic when they ceased production of all Campdraft Deluxe and many other models as well.

Congratulations on your score! Looks to be in great shape.

I had the same issue with my brim wanting to snap back up. I finally applied some steam to convince it I meant business.
Hi Boomerang.

Sadly that's correct. They were a special order as an exclusiveade for the Hattery in Katoomba NSW. They had three colours. Cedar Brown, Moonstone and Silver belly. I own a Cedar Brown and a Silver belly and trying to find a Moonstone in 60. After years it's not been easy to find one at all. I think they are all gone, and the people who own them will not sell.

A Biltmore Straw for today's sunshine. Do you recognise the tie? Tina made it from an Aloha shirt offcut.
It has "English summer" written all over it, Robert. Excellence personified!

So glad you've been posting again, Eric. Your straw collection is as impressive as the felt one. An inspiration.

Sunday and summer is here again. The hats of the week are here too. Not that many this time, don't know why.

Some beauties this week Stefan. The perfection on the Flandres catches my eye.. but the sheer beauty of the Mulfone and Orient make it impossible to decide a winner!

Here's the latest addition to my collection. Stephen L. Stetson Olympic Quality with Carter Detachable Leather sweatband. Shark's gill bow and wind cord really set this one off. I even got the original box to add to the pile !

I always love a good Stephen L Stetson in its Never Connected in Any Way glory. But this one is just a fantastically beautiful example. Great find and new addition, Tim.
