A fine survivor and perhaps the second most interesting item to land in Roswell, New Mexico. All advertising references I've found for "Mikado" straw seem to be from 1927. Perhaps made from Toyo straw... I've seen one other similar hat posted here - from the collection of Robert/RLK. It is quite rugged and not a lightweight.

If you can find me on of those "Choice of the House Suits" for $33.85 that would be great too. I've got a daughter's wedding coming up in a month.

Yesterday was wet and noisy... today is REALLY wet and REALLY noisy and flashy. Maybe I should keep a boat and the scuba gear handy..lol No drought here in East Texas this year!

Have a brief gap between thunderstorms so I dove outside for the morning pics.. Today its a Cedar Brown CampDraft Deluxe.

It's time to start bringing out the warm weather felt. This one is a favorite: a lovely light-grey Canadian Royal Stetson with a very boxy crown and an easy-wearing lightweight felt.

A number of years ago I had the sweatband replaced and unfortunately the thing bled through the felt the first time I sweated in it. The stains are visible on the ribbon front.

Still a great hat though.

Happy end to your work week, friends.
