Nice selections.Idaho's changeable spring temps necessitated a change of clothes mid-day, so the hats got changed as well.
Started off with my 80s 3X Open Road, and finished the day with a Resistol Asphalt straw.

Thanks, Timmy!Love the beadwork on the OR !
Loving these curled brims!Ive worn a couple westerns and curled brims this week.... lets end the week on the same theme. This is one of my favorites ...a Stetson Giant 4x in silverbelly. Since i dont spend a lot of time outside on a horse or out to mending fences, Im particularly fond of somewhat trimmer brim westerns. Ive been contemplating a bit of work on the crown to reshape it into a Gus crease.

Thanks, Joe!Nice selections.
I like the way you’ve shaped this open road it almost makes me think of a sort of wandering gold prospectorIdaho's changeable spring temps necessitated a change of clothes mid-day, so the hats got changed as well.

That's a cool brim edge binding !!
love the brim stitching! not the usual line stitching
Thank you guys!THAT is a stunner, Marcel!!!!!
Slightly on the small end. As for felt quality its ok, I don't know enough to judge. I have 2 hats my favourite is the Reuben High Crown which is soft and very comfortable. My other is a Barstow fedora, but the brim is very stiff and I don't like it, the crown is soft though, but it's probably my least favourite hat and is snug for a 63cm.I have been interested in Thomas Farthing hats for a while. But have had a tough time finding any reviews How do you find the quality of the felt? Is the hat true to size?
Cheers!
Thank you Blare! Yessir. It was definitely worth saving and the felt and everything original to the hat is solid. I actually have the block for it. My one complaint with the hat is the 2 1/2 brim width. I'm debating whether or not to find it a new owner only for that reason. If the brim was 2 5/8 I wouldn't even consider letting it go.Wonderful restoration. As mucked up as it was… you could definitely see the “good bones”
Lovely top! It's a gray 41 degree afternoon down here @ Rock Bottom so it only seems fitting to be wearing this Gray Royal Stetson Open Road. The felt on this one is thin and soft and molds easily without steam. The mail lady just dropped this one off minutes ago and all I did was give it a good brushing and creased it like I like 'em ! I like that Resistol straw. I'd like to get hold of one like that.Idaho's changeable spring temps necessitated a change of clothes mid-day, so the hats got changed as well.

Very nice Timmy! That is only the second twenty-five I’ve seen that is tagged with “Beaver” — they seem to be fairly rare. This morning I'm going with this Stetson Beaver Twenty Five with Vita Felt process.
