Another stunning selection this week, Stefan. I'm going with the Borsalino Lupo in first, the Echter Mayser in second, and the Mossant in third. Thank you for another splendid Sunday.

The coming of spring means my wife is entering fanatical-gardener mode, which means I get used a lot for manual labor. That's in addition to all the "usual" on-going work involved in having moved to a 47-year-old house. However, I did manage to get out of the house/yard for almost an entire hour today, View attachment 694974 View attachment 694975 and while out, I sported my newest older fedora.

It's an unnamed model tan Portis, with Swan's Down Finish, that, from labeling, price tag, and general styling, I'd estimate to be from the early to mid 1950s.

That's a beautiful Portis, Mark.

Burr 37 degrees F this morning! Where did spring go? Oh well... more time for jackets and stout hats.

Today the new-to-me Campdraft Deluxe heads out for the coffee shop. I did do some steaming and little bit of brim flattening yesterday. Eventually Ill probably work in a bit more dip in the front and a gentle snap up in back, but for now I like the flatter brim better than the way it came to me. ( Snap brim in front kept popping back up, and the sides curled up a bit too much) LOVE the brown

Wow... what a difference an hour makes! Sun came out and theres bright blue skies and zero clouds. Hat looks just as good in bright sun as it does in dull grey overcast

I about wore myself out yesterday wearing that BIG ol Stetson Tom Mix so I decided to go with something a bit smaller for today.lol.
Lightweight Stetson with a 1-3/4" brim & 7/8" grosgrain ribbon hatband. Something that caught my eye first time I laid eyes on this hat was the sweatband is not leather but some sort of ribbon material. The felt is very thin & soft .The hat is comfortable to wear and easy to forget you have it on !

Love that 1940s swoop! My new-to-me Mallory Commander does the same thing. At first I was fighting it and now I have resigned myself to it—that’s how the hats looked then, and it’s a great look.
