Went crazy with the boots lately but I'm glad my original love has been reignited.

Haider Ackermann.

I just purchased my first high end pair of boots, a great price on Grailed and not much more than a pair of new Grant Stone. Nothing against Grant Stone but I prefer not to deal with companies that outsource if I can help it. If I was going to buy Chinese then I would go with Flame Panda or Iron Boots. Support the true craftsmen not profiteering.

If you have the patience to wait for a good deal to pop up then you can get a much more expensive pair of boots for around the same price as just buying a regular price boot not on sale. Allen Edmonds regularly has sale boots where they are priced the same as kickstarter over advertised boot brands like Thursday Boots.

The stitching and build look good to me. On boots I refuse to get picky about that because they are literally on our feet and the jacket hobby is enough. I’ll save the $2k Clinch boots for the millionaires lol.

I strongly recommend to keep a lookout for boots that are new or worn once before buying new because some people offer great prices.
Just look at these Shell Cordovan Allen Edmonds in size 12 for $364.00. Why would you need anything else in a black boot?

Here are my Horsebutt Vibergs, these should go with my first arriving bespoke jacket which should be here soon.

Nice whites collection
That’s another brand I will be stalking the various buying platforms for. They look nice and tough like the Viberg boots.

You know I love my boots, but I just ordered these Beckett Simonon double monks in a Bordeaux color. They batch make them. I think they're slated to arrive in November. They'll be my early Christmas gift... to me.

This is seriously... Something else. It is immensely impressive the boot-maker managed to etch Hokusai's The Great Wave so intricately and the scaly part goes so nicely with it. I don't know if I'd want to ruin these boots by

Just wow. I would feel bad wearing those since there is always a chance to ruin this piece of artwork
Yes. There is a chance I won't wake up tomorrow, but I'm gonna wear a nice suit and we'll made shoes every time I have an excuse. Even custom made, expensive shoes. Bring on the quality. Life is short.

What lasts have you tried?. I’m a uk9 and find the 4497 and 2298 lasts true to size, the 4444 last can go down a 1/2 size for a good fit.
Actually I’m nowhere near a place that sells Trickers, but from what I’ve read their lasts don’t really include combo types that accommodate a wide forefoot and narrow heel.
I may be completely talking out of my *** on this point.

I think you should be fine in normal boot size. Unless you have some crazy looking foot, just size 1/2 down from your normal sneaker size.

People take this boot sizing way too seriously, honestly if you just at what people were wearing on their feet for thousands of years it’s comical that people sell their boots for the slightest reason.
On the positive side it gives those of us that that will never pay the crazy $700 plus for boots a chance at huge discount.

After all the reading I was scared to order Vibergs but I just used Division Roads advice and went 1/2 size down from a normal US boot size for the 2030 series.

Next I might try one to find one of these Indonesian boot makers (if there are any left) that get crazy expensive due to the influencers.

Ha, I’ve sold off Vibergs and Whites ‘cause they were wrong for my feet, this after months of wear.

IDK if you will have that problem with the Trickers, I’m a size 10us in boots and a 9uk in Trickers, Grenson, Fred Perry and I didn’t notice much difference in the fit except the Fred Perry has a fabric lining inside.
If it’s the bottom shape that is the problem then I have not met a pair of shoes or boots that can’t be corrected with a good insole, like a Birkenstock
