How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Well then, he certainly made a wise choice given the lining you selected. I bet Carlos is sporting his before either of us.

I enquired yesterday and was told mine was still around 8 weeks out... Plus a week shipping, so that's around 20th of July, which is great jacket weather!
But i got my CHP last week and have been pretty much living in it.
I don't like it as much as i like the J-23 or the Leathertogs A, but it is a very nice jacket!

CHP is all business. A very practical jacket. It’s very nice but I consider it the grunt in my collection. True workwear. Glad you like it.

Yep, it really is a no thrill jacket, but i don't find the pattern as comfortable as what i got used to with my J-23 and LT. It feels a bit more restrictive, i think it's not as well designed as my other two.

In wear the J-23 and the LT are almost like my Langlitz, they just disappear, you never feel like you have to fight them, they just move perfectly with you.
The CHP doesn't feel like that. It feels like it is too large and too small at the same time, it pulls when reaching forward, dare i say it it feels a bit like my Aeros do...
Don't get me wrong, it's very cool and i like it, but when you get used to a 9.5/10 in range of motion, going back to a 7/10 feels very obvious.

When i wear them they feel trim, the armpits feel tight, but i can still comfortably move however i want without anything pinching or pulling. There is just the right amount of material available to provide movement.

The CHP on the other hand has very oversized pits, it feels very bulbous...
When wearing it without moving it feels like there is a lot of extra material in the pits, in the back and on either side of the body. When reaching forward you can feel all this extra material moving and puling as you reach.
You can still move, you can still get forward reach, it just that you feel the jacket fighting you back a little.

It's not really that the CHP has less range of motion, it's that it doesn't provide said range of motion as flawlesly and elegantly as the J-23 and the LT.

Basically it relies on being a bit oversized in the chest to provide range of motion (like Aero's do) rather than more clever things like underarm gussets, pit design/shape, sleeve curvature, etc...

Yes, definitely not as elegant. I believe that the pattern, with more room in the chest and areas you mention (unless it is too small) allows you to layer without changing the look of the jacket when worn. When properly sized, it fits and feels like it fits and feels, no matter what lies beneath. I find that useful for long, multi-day rides where the climate may change. I find it useful when armed. As we said, a practical jacket. The J23, Trojan, PJ27, all look more refined when worn. But if a horde of zombies was moving down my block and I could choose just one jacket as I go into survival mode, it would be the CHP.

Now, I am ready for Stuart to send the most impractical of jackets my way!

Trying to put your hands in them feels like a torture device, they are so far back it's pretty much impossible to put your hands in them.

Looks great, and with the Crown zips to boot. One thing I wish I could change on mine. Not as perfectly fitted as the LT, that is obvious. But still excellent. I bet you will reach for this jacket more than you think. I seem to do.

Side note, my boy told me yesterday he wanted to ride a horse. Out of no where. So I found a farm that offered classes to little ones and immediately took him. He did amazing. Very proud of him. Huge horse and the 5-year old midget rode it fearlessly. Anyways, there were a bunch of farmhands, cowboys, etc. working the farm and all, to a man, said my Trojan was kick ***. We discussed workwear for a bit. Pretty cool. A couple of horses even nibbled on the sleeves and were obviously shocked at the manliness of my jacket lol.

Looks good but not as perfect as Crosszip jackets, especially your LW Leathertogs, J23 and FW La Brea...therefore Stu chose you to be his Leathertogs model on his website!

I'll be a bit blunt here which you hopefully don't mind as you voiced very similar concerns yourself already; This jacket doesn't fit you well at all. It's way too boxy for your body shape. Looking at that backshot, I'd say two sizes too large in the waist area. And I do agree with you that this is a design flaw. These CHP jackets should have way more taper. If you look at the originals, they are all very short, hiplength-ish and they all are very tapered, with 4-5" drops from ptp to waist measurements as they ended at the wearers narrow waist. Stus version is longer and sacrifices the taper to make sure it fits around the hips it falls down to. To me this looks like one of these "trying to adapt a vtg design to work with modern trousers raise and botchering the design in the process"-cases. I'm not saying it is not a perfectly well made jacket that may in fact work very well for someone with a more tubular bodyshape than you (for example @El Marro 's jacket looks great on him!), but I do say I personally would not expect nor want this fit from a CHP styled jacket. If I wanted a jacket with this casual relaxed fit, I'd go for a civilian style as the Suburban.

I think you may want to try to get rid of this while it still has as little wear as possible to minimize loss, you won't wear it with owning all these other jackets that fit you so much better.

I think Stu should take this back and trim the torso. You know better than anyone what a good fit feels like and I honestly think this looks just too roomy in the body. This jacket is based on the vintage CAL design which has an extremely, and I mean extremely trim torso with almost overly broad shoulders so there’s a massive amount of taper. I’m not seeing that in this LW. I just think the gut of this jacket needs to be reworked. Now probably isn’t the time to send it but I’d mention it to Stu. Just my two cents but among the myriad of amazing jackets and fits in your stable...this one isn’t on the same level in terms of fit. Just my opinion.

That’s not the one I sent you, right? I recall less taper on that one. Good amount of taper but not this. This nearly is peak Arnold taper. My police issued Cal is like this though. Carlos definitely has the build for it. Most do not.

I didn't even have to lie about things and didn't have to damage my jacket to get a new one... Weird!

@Carlos840 , no doubt this is a brilliantly made, high quality jacket but... I honestly wouldn't be very happy at all if this was the jacket I paid $2000 for. I understand Stu probably have done a spot-on repro of a CHP, which was intended to be worn over uniform or whatever and is supposed to be roomy but... To be honest, I can't think of a single reason why you would ever want to reach for this jacket instead of literally any other you have.

The Himel, for instance, makes you look fantastic & like you're wearing a premium jacket.
This looks like you've picked up something from an eBay at random, haven't bothered with the measurements and figured you'd call it a day.

Don't get this the wrong way, it's not bad bad, it's just... Not even close to what we've gotten used to seeing you wear and there's a lot of money in it.

Body shape aside, looking great in a leather jacket is a huge part of why we pay as much money as we do for them and wait for years and whatnot and in this case, that part's been completely disregarded and ignored. And while I personally don't mind the sleeve length, that's another thing that I believe they botched up completely which is all very weird because this wasn't your first order and LW had your measurements on file. I don't get it how they coulda send you this.

I agree with @ton312 LW should take this back.

My advice, get something else.
