This arrived late yesterday - a 1920s/'30s Lamson Hubbard courtesy of @splintercellz.

It's got that unmistakably malleable vintage felt that holds whatever shape you put into it, even without steam.

As it is ever slightly too snug, right now it is pulled part-way down on my straight sided 23" Hat Shaper. I put a light sheen of shea butter on the sweat to help relax it as it stretches out a bit. I will report back tomorrow on the fit.

Good to see this beauty stay in the family. You rock!

He creased it while I watched. He didn't reblock it yet. That might come later.

It's brown, Doug. The hat looks like new. I was a little scared about it before I met this Mexican hatter. Now I don't feel defenceless. When I need something done on a hat, I don't have to pay for shipping back and forth to the US, plus this guy's prices are excellent.

Needs a little cleaning and shaping (unless I want to start a trend with the square brim flanging).

Didn’t notice any stickers behind the sweat after a quick peek. This may be a Shudde refurb. I’m super happy with it though.

Hi All,
Haven't really investigated the circa year of this Royal Stetson but it was kept in the box for quite sometime. There is no sign of sweat marks nor coloration runs along with tattered bows and what not.

The felt is smooth and the weight is very light, finely finished, the round up brim is curved perfectly all around. The color itself grey/gray is more of a slate/steel with a sheen.

I now present a newly member of my soon to be a collections of hats.
New for me this 2018 but made ???? :

The initial shape I did was the Cattleman's mode, I also did the classic Fedora tear drop/diamond shape style...can post later I guess so I kept this shape for now for pictures.

I think this as clean as it can get sans wind cord and the pin, I did brush it counter wise etc., hardly any dust.

Anybody in the know of age and price these would be going for back then and now?
Please feel free to educate my newly found hobby. Quite happy and lucky I'd say to score on this baby.
