During my recent sabbatical, I "accidentally" purchased this Maclachlan from Rick (whoops).

The much esteemed Hatted Professor provided Rick with the identification of the maker using his special professorial powers.

Decided to give it a try out this afternoon. Gosh... It's a really beautifuliciously made hat. Simply marvelous felt...

Thanks Red. Shortly after I got my photos taken this morning the thunder showed up, with heavy rain. Once it had settled down to just a steady rain I decided to pop a different color.

Some Helly Hansen yellow with a Filson packer hat. Can't remember if it is tin cloth or shelter cloth, but it performed in exemplary fashion on my hour of bike riding in the rain. Nary a single drop despoiled my eyeglasses and my head stayed nice and dry. It was a test run for the newly installed fenders and chain board. They worked well, too.
