Thank you, AZ. My goal was to emulate the proportions of some tall crowned and wide brimmed hats I saw in several movies from the 1940s. My favorite era for fedoras. Your work is coming along nicely as well. Good stuff.

Thank you, Michael. With the heavier weight western hats I work on, especially Resistols, I try to sand them down just enough to where I can get a nice sharp crease. I use a few different grits of sand paper and sanding sponges for removing material and then finer grits for a smooth and softer finish.

I love that hat! Very nice!A hat from that other Philadelphia maker. Stratoliner inspired thin ribbon in an unusual mauve/gray with a very deeply scooped flange, fine felt and high quality construction. Union made in the mid 1940s.
