HAHA answer my own question and post another two.
Guess which Fedora Lounge member does not know who Rubeus Hagrid is?
Second question: Guess which Fedora Lounge member has never seen a Harry Potter film?

Answers may be posted here :)

The books are much better- at least #1-3... something changed in the writing style beginning with #5. Long rambling sentences with nothing much happening in the story for the first 300 pages.

That's what I've been telling people all the time. The first book is actually very good, lively and rapid, with a great rhythm, almost poem-ish at times. But then I read, I think it was a fifth book, it was? Anyway, that one's completely devoid of all the playfulness and wit of the first book and is written in an as straightforward manner as can be. But that's when the horrible movies came out. Since neither of the directors managed to capture the atmosphere of the first book and translate it to a film, and instead did an unimaginative CG fest, my theory is that she had to adapt to the deadpan stiffness of the movies and write in such a manner.

Granted, Prisoner of Azkaban was okay but not even Cuaron could do much with what was already firmly established on screen.

I had a girlfriend that had all the Twilight books and DVD's and wanted me to go with her to a premier of... one of those. But it could be worse, she could've been a fan of A Song of Ice and Fire.
