Lewis leathers Corsair Addict Clothes Ad-01 sizing help

Hey guys,

I'm looking for some help selecting a jacket and size. I am very interested in the Addict clothes AD-01, or the Lewis Leathers Corsair. My concern is this; I seem to fall between a 36 and 38 in suits. I would like to pick one of these jackets up second hand as the wait time and price from the manufacturers is a bit much for me. Does anyone have some insight into the sizing with these companies?

I ask because I recently purchased a brand new Schott 689H in 36, and I find the fit to be closer to something like a 40, and I'm not in the love with the fit. (If anyone is interested I may be willing to parts ways with it) Due to this experience I am really concerned about making another expensive jacket purchase which may not fit the way I like.

Also, if anyone has some input or suggestions for other similar jackets, I would love to hear it. I am 5'11" 170 lbs and quite slender. Looking for an austere slim fitting jacket, ideally in horsehide.

Thanks!

Picking jacket size based on your suit size is going to be an approximation at best, and a gamble at worst.

Personally, I wear my suit size in a Corsair and my suit size plus one in the Addict 01, but I really wouldn’t count on it.

Best way is to find a well-fitting jacket of yours, take the measurements for shoulder (seam to seam), sleeves, hem and chest and take these at a departure point.
The Addict runs ca. half a size smaller than the LL.

Measure your best fitting jacket and send these numbers to LL & here, as well.

Lewis Leathers are, in my experience, extremely reliable when it comes to sizing and literally every single jacket I had tried on in their store that was in the size that I wear, was spot-on perfect on me.

Also, the AD-01 fits drastically different than the Lewis Leathers Corsair so knowing the size of one jacket won't do you much good.

If you can, buy the original. Addict Leathers are known to be very anti-shoulders.

Here’s a comparison.

First one is the LL Dominator in size 44. I am slightly unsure if it’s the same pattern as the Corsair (LL say it is, but I always thought the Dom is more boxy. Could be that the zippers create a top-heavy deception here).

The second one is the Addict, also 44. It is more fitted and the horsehide is much more stiff.

I’ve since sold the Dom and re-bought in sheep hide as this is the quintessential leather for this LL, IMO. I still have and love the Addict.

I have a Corsair 42 made from veg tanned sheep. In Horsehide it would probably have to be 44 because I find the HH from Lewis very high temper (my brother has a No 442 in HH and it's too tight for me in the same size)
I think, in principle, the LL are true to size. Mine has been slightly modified by LL.
According to LL, the Corsair is the same pattern as the Dominator, but the pockets have a slightly different angle.

Wow, thank you guys so much for the quick responses. All of this is really helpful! I'm wondering if Horsehide is actually the wrong leather for what I'm after in terms of fit.
