First of all, thanks for your kind words [emoji5] [emoji5] [emoji5] [emoji5]

You are all welcome to come down to the middle of the Tequila Valley, the cradle of what Mexico means, Tequila, Mariachi, Charreria (mexican cowboys), beautiful weather and nice people !!!

We should do a Fedora Lounge Convention in Puerto Vallarta or Chapala Lake !!

Not a bad idea.

I was on the other shore of Mexico a few weeks ago. Really had a great time.

I second the Lounge reunion in Mexico. Just give me a few months notice.

Just got this no name velour that is awesome. I'm thinking 30s. I need to look more closely at the union tag. This thing is really, really light. In amazing shape.

Bob,

4 1/2 inches front and back, 5 on the sides.

Thx. I'm enjoying alot of these big fat straight sided crowns with the shorter brims. That velour would look great with some heavy winter wool suits and overcoats.

Thanks! The wife loves her Dragonfly chair and ottoman. I rarely get access to it.

As to the ribbon on a CampDraft, I really like them with a 1 inch ribbon. Plan to do this to the Williams but my materials are in storage at the moment.

Sort of like this one which I did a while back:

It's fascinating to me how something as relatively simple as changing the width of the ribbon can change the overall appearance of the hat so dramatically. Wonderful!

Yes, it is like the difference you could have with a large pizza. One has lots of pepperoni and one just...well...cheese! You can just never get enough of a good thing, hat, pizza...beer and then snuggling up next to my Husband...it does not get any better than that!

Looks great! I have a feeling the felt is of Austrian / Czech origin. Look forward to more details.

Mayser,

What information can I provide? The sweat feels like a man made material. It is kind of plasticky. I have picture of the union label. And the hat had a turned up brim though not like a homburg, just slightly near the edge of the brim. Hope that helps.

Are there any other labels or markings? If I had the felt in hand I could tell more about the Velour although it looks nice in the photos. I tend to think the felt body or hat body was sourced (mostly likely from a Austrian / Czech company). There were heavy tariffs / duties on Austrian Velour so not everything was on the up and up.

I've never snuggled up next to your husband, so I'll have to take your word on that one.

One fancy hat. Very nice.

[moontheloon]

Got this one a little while ago... It's a little tight... I might need a long oval.

In all seriousness I got this a little while ago from an older guy who said that he and his sister gave it to their grandfather for Christmas in the mid 1940s.
it stayed in the family all those years.

What I thought was kind of special is that just today I looked under a little bed of cotton balls that the hat was sitting on and found this.
Pretty cool history right there

I'm a sucker for this stuff

The United Hatters of North America label is 1934 or earlier. Great hat!
