Scored a really nice Resistol at a fantastic price on a tip from my man Jim.

Really nice hat ... and I've really been craving a cattleman crease ... This hat showed up with one

I have to be honest ... I'm just not feeling this crease on me

I want to like it ... but I just don't

To be honest I'm not feeling it on you either. Maybe it's the pic but the crown looks low. Pinches too high and to tight and maybe not a broad enuff center crease. IDK but I think u could bring it back to open crown and maybe have your way with it and a little fun to boot!

Is it 7 1/2? Looks like a OR clone, isn't it?

I'm with Bob. Maybe a softer cattleman with lower side dents? I forget, is there a reorder tag w/ the block profile on it?

Rick's collection shows us San Antonios, Wacos, the recent Deming and I think a Dallas? All seem to have similar block profiles, but I don't know if any differences like brim width.

How is the felt - thin or more thick? Stiff or more easily shaped?

Edit: Dalworth, not Dallas.

I don't like the Cattleman's crease, so I don't think it looks good on anyone. That's a damn fine hat, and it'll look much better after you've worked your Moon mojo on it to make it truly your own.

I owned a black 1930s Stetson Standard Quality for a couple of years, which I loved but never wore it because it was a little small (7-3/8) and the sweatband threads were coming loose. A few weeks ago, I found its twin in 7-1/2 on a table at a gun show, but it was missing the sweatband. With nothing to preserve this time, I took it to Texas Hatters in Lockhart to have them install a new sweatband - I picked it up last Friday and they did an incredible job. I am not sure if this was a Standard Quality like my other one because the felt is much softer - and the felt is incredible. I can shape the brim anywhere I want it and it just stays in place. Brim is about 2-3/4" and original bash remains at 5". I love owning a piece of history that I can still wear!

Sharp hat Robert!

a new never worn vintage hat just like that one and sold it...but now we wish we would have kept it. The cattlemen crease does take some time to get used to it, as many are more fond of the "fedora" look over the western look of that crease, but...it is a great look on most men.

Well you do have to admit the cattleman looks MILES better than what Pharrelle (spelled right..no..oh well you know who)? was wearing with that raisin twist crease bash! That looked like a hat made to hide all seven dwarfs under the crown to smuggle them into a walk-in movie theater!

In México it is almost impossible to find vintage hats, and finding them in 7 1/2 or 60 even worst !!!

Lucky you guys with smaller sized heads and living in the States and Europe !!!

You sure have that right. The fellows with a smaller head size score all sorts of deals on hats for next to nothing prices. Those with a larger size, seem to not find as much and have to pay more for it seems!

Today my Stetsonian got his first head time.

Real nice soft felt, you can tell the quality in the hat.

Really like it a lot.

Oh wow i really like this hat! Is this the Stetsonian that come with an open crown and that you have to batch yourself?

It seems to be in-between a fedora and a traveler, with not a too wide brim, just what l'm looking for.

Do you have a link where i could get more information?

Thanks

I think it is just the crease

I've tried it on many hats ... I just thought I would give it one more shot

I've come to the conclusion that I just don't like it ... on me ... on others I enjoy it

the felt is very nice ... soft ... feels a lot like my old Open Roads

I would pop the crown open and rework it ... but something about this hat tells me that it wants this type crease

I may just move it

it really is a beautifully made hat ... just don't think it is for me

I actually really like that style... I could never wear it but I dig it

The style was dreamt up by Malcolm McLaren after visiting Peru and seeing a bowler type hat that woman wear.
Then later it was designed by Vivienne Westwood for the Buffalo Girls video around 1983.

Very distinct style from the early days of hip hop and I love that Pharrell payed homage

Great hat

I think the hat is what it is. I like the look. It is a western style cattle man crease. Hats are often about the way they are made for the market. Making a fedora out of a western hat is like putting BMW rims on a bronco. You have plenty of fedoras. Nice find!

Well, guillaumeb, I'm still not certain what a traveller hat is, but if you mean a foldable/crushable, then no. It is most certainly a fedora. As for the brim, the hat is listed as having a 2 5/8" brim, but the one I purchased came with a brim much closer to 2 7/8".
