Been on vacation in Santa Fe and Denver, took 4 hats but only got to wear 2. Weather turned too hot in SF for the felt. Pic here is after a hard day watching my wife shop.

I was looking for a serviceable, non-precious straw hat. Meyer the Hatter in New Orleans has modern Stetson Panama Open Roads in stock. Considering they are located less than a mile from where I was born (and were in business then, too), they were the sentimental choice.
I steamed out the cattleman's crease and the western brim flange and shaped it into a fedora, but the thin ribbon will remain.
