I got this Stetson western from rlk some time ago. Very old, and VERY teal. Super high crown. I've made up a little story in my imagination to explain why it is in such like-new condition: "Happy birthday, dear - I got you a new hat!" "Uh,.. that is,.. errr,.. thank you sweetheart. I like it sooo much that I'm going to keep it right in the box and put it in a place of honor up on the top shelf in the closet here..." Then he puts his dirty silverbelly Open Road back on and somehow manages to forget to ever wear this one. lol

Unique and one of a kind are in the eye of the beholder.
Let us behold your beheld unique and one of a kinds.

This one has a uniquely low Lot# and some attitude.
Be well and safe.

I love this hat! I can’t remember when the last “new” The Fray sweatband showed up here.

I have a few nice hats, but nothing that belongs with this lofty company.

A dye job gone bad. This was a Dove Gray Winchester beaver felt that mottled very quickly into the pouncing. It was unusable so decided to attempt a dye job to a darker blue. Colour came out great but it did nothing to mitigate the mottling. So I live with it. View attachment 360279
I like it, though it looks green on my laptop. I'd wear it as-is and tell anyone who asks that the beaver had a melanin condition that resulted in spotted fur. :D

Yes, greenish on mine too even though it is very blue. I purchased a light box as I thought it would help to get pics that depicted the actual colour......I was sadly mistaken.

Most excellent in many ways, Jack. Unique model, unique liner.
I have to say there are only a couple members here that the moment i see their hat profiled i know who it belongs to. One is @40Cal, another is you.

Thank you Bowen, that's a nice compliment. The styles of the Western dress hat of the 1920's - 1930's followed up with the taller OR's, SA's & Wacos from inception into the 1960's are among my favorites.

Thanks Brent it is a hat to love. High praise but you have very many unique hats of all make and style.
I’ve presented this hat a time or two around here. The old Fray sweatbands seem indestructible and so comfortable and stand the test of time. Something lacking in many old vintage hats. Reminds me of a well worn belt.
I haven’t worn this hat much, only admired it for it’s uniqueness but realized if i don’t wear it who will. So ima wear this one and enjoy it’s person.
