Technically a T.V. show, but there was a movie made and the music is all as good as this opening:

Thanks for bringing it up! I'm a big fan of the Cowboy Bebop series, and the music is excellent. I listen to it with regularity, and Tank is among my favorite tracks. For me this was the most memorable anime opening, and in my opinion, only rivaled by this which is also great:

Lupin the Third (based in part off of the original Arsene Lupin stories of Maurice LeBlanc). It's the series that inspired Cowboy Bebop too. This intro can be a bit campy, granted, but I like the music, and it's a good series. It's kind of unheard of in the United States, except among those that actually caught it's late night/early morning airings off of Adult Swim on Cartoon Network.

P.S. Sorry I had to bring up another TV/animated theme.

On the move again...
There are a load of great composers out there today and ones from the past. I can't really pinpoint one particular theme music from a particular film. I think the compositions that I enjoy the most and remember in my thoughts long after the film is over are the ones that can extract exact emotions out of me durring a particular scene in the film or even a television show for that matter.
For instance, I just got done watching the Doctor Who episode, "The girl in the Fireplace". The music at the end really drew out the sadness of the scene and made you feel the loneliness of The Doctor. I think that without the music you just wouldn't feel it as much.
So, for me, it is the compositions created by brilliant composers that know how to draw emotions out of you upon command. Those are my favorite bits of theme music in films and shows. Even films like Meet the Robinsons had a composition to it that drew out emotions that one didn't even know were there. That is the power of music tied to the soul.

Cheers!

Dan
