The dentist office's assistant, that made my prof. teethcleaning, remarked, that I'm "still very young", midway through our conversation.

Are 35+ the youngsters in the dental offices?? o_O

At White Castles the kid cashier rang up a senior discount cut.
And he said "I gave you the senior discount sir."
And he saw the surprise look I evidenced.
And he said "But you don't look like a senior sir."
And he smiled when I thanked him, smiling.

Shakespeare noted that “from hour to hour we ripe and ripe, and then from hour to hour we rot and rot” (As You Like It)

and that “golden girls and lads all must, likely chimney sweepers, come to dust” (Cymbeline).

Now I know I'm old, I've just bought a pair of long handled nail clippers to reach my toe nalis.

I always enjoy your Shakespearean oratory. And with time's passage the more spellbound is the effect
of his prose, wisdom, and, quite often sagacious wit.

Kind of you to say so, thank you. Conspiracy theorists annoy me when they claim that Shakespeare didn't write the plays and sonnets. Nobody ever suggests that Chaucer wasn't the author of his work or that great composers like Mendelssohn and others were plagiarists of their day. What is there to be gained? Shakespeare left us a great legacy, just leave it be.

I love their "arguments" that he could not, for example, have written Romeo and Juliet because he'd never been to Italy unlike some of his contemporaries claimed to be the "real" author. That a) he did not need to have visited to situate a story there b) he could in any case have read any number of the even then popular travel accounts to gain insight into cultural aspects and c) neither did he live in Roman times, ancient Scotland, ancient Denmark, the mediaeval periods or any other historic time he set stories in, and no one else alive at his time had either, so if "not being there" were a factor then the claimed alternate authors had as little credibility as he did.

Leaving soapbox now...

Everyone knows that the complete works of William Shakespeare were written by one of those infinite number of chimps on an infinite number of typewriters, hammering away through eternity. Had to happen sooner or later. :)

Should I have read Shakespeare at least one time in my life?
Some will surely say yes, others, not so much. You might try reading a bit online first, just to see if it seems to be something you're interested in. Ol' Bill's works were originally written in what is commonly referred to these days as Early Modern English so they won't need to be translated for anyone who reads English, but English was written and spoken at least a little differently in his days:

"Shall I compare thee to a summer's day? Thou art lovely and more temperate. Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May, and summer's lease hath all too short a date." Translation: "You're pretty, and we're wasting time."
