continuing to let go of the treasures that are too small for me (booohooo)

this one is a very collectible Spiewak and Sons 1987 milspec issue made from the same patterns Spiewak used in WW2 for their wartime production...all info, pix, size, etc at:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130347674369

thanks for looking...not many of these around...spiewak hasn't made their a-2s for years now

It looks great,
I own a Schott 80's jacket (nothing near an original A2 ofcourse).
It's a 44 which for me is too short in the back, even the shoulders are a bit tight, and I can't really zip up to the top to close the jacket.
I'd normally wear a 42 though… (or even an AERO 40, which fit very large).
Do you think your jacket fit me? (1,82m).
best,
rik

aNSWERS...

thanks james, sorry it's a size or two too small...

BUT RIKBB...this may fit you...i just sold a schott actual milspec A-2 from the 80s and it was only 24.25" in the back whereas the SPIEWAK is another 3/4" in the back, the standard size for most older A-2s...so that helps there

the spiewak will definitely be larger than the schott...the size 46 schott i just sold was 23.5" armpit to armpit, and the spiewak is 25" armpit to armpit...so it's already 3" all the way around bigger on the chest than the size 46 schott, which i'm sure was at least bigger than your 44 schott...my guess is that the spiewak would give you another 4" around the chest...which would also hang a bit more loosely and give you even more than the 3/4" more length than your schott...the only thing is you would need to be concerned that it isn't TOO big

measure the armpit to armpit on your schott zipped and laid flat, at the bottom of the armpit seam...it's probably 22.5" across...by the way you describe it you could probably go up a few inches in the armpit to armpit, which would bring you close to the 25" armpit to armpit the spiewak is

see what your tape measure tells you about the schott, as well as your other jackets, and then decide...my own personal guess is that it will fit you, but it will have a little room to it...that is the way i like all my jackets to fit

lastly, if you want to private message me, or post here, what your tape measured circumference of your chest is when normal (not inflated or deflated), i can give you a pretty exact idea if this will fit, and how

thanks for the interest...it's a nice real deal jacket made to ww2 patterns by a ww2 A-2 supplier to the army air force
