WTT: My Aero Jacket(s) for your 4 oz+ jackets

Hey everyone, I am sorting my jackets at the moment. Gave away a few to family members, but I still have two jackets that do not fit me and which I would trade away if a good opportunity comes up.

1) My Aero Teamster in a roomy size 38 (23" pit to pit) in brown very heavy FQHH, brown alpaca lining. Been worn for no more than 2-3 months, usual signs of normal wear, leather is broken in and soft, at least when warmed up a bit.

2) Holy grail stunning beautiful Aero Barnstormer in Conolly Steerhide in size 40. It's 24" pit to pit but tapered down through the body I believe, as it fits me very tight at my hips while there is some room in the chest. The leather is outstanding, best of the best. Sadly the style doesn't work for my bodyshape. I have come to the conclusion that longer coats work better with long and lean body's and I am fairly short and not exactly lean either with 180ish pounds on my 5'9". I will take my own pictures at the weekend. Edit: Pics now uploaded, few posts down.

I am looking for heavy leather jackets in size 40-42 depending on cut of the style. Preferably something in Aeros superheavy CLX Steer or Johnson Leathers 4 oz+ black overdye, but I'll also consider other leathers and makers.

Edit:
Also looking out for a seal goatskin jacket right now, maybe a Aero HB

So, anyone who is in a similar spot as me of having jackets lieing around who no longer get any wear? Interested in one of mine? Let me know!

(I can provide detailed pictures of both jackets by the weekend.)

Yours,
jj

Depending on the measurements of your Teamster, I have a heavy CXL steer Cheyenne, size 40, without the handwarmer pockets and lined in cotton drill that could be of interest.

Measurements of the Reversible Waterfront:

shoulders 19.5-20"
front 24"
back 27.5" laid flat but it's effectively shorter because the leather doesn't fall flat, when wearing it. It curls up like any flight jacket style.
sleeves 25.5"
pit to pit 24"

I've also got a size 40 Aero Maxwell in black FQHH, alpaca lining, that I might be interested in trading. And a size 40 Vanson Enfield. Let me know if you're interested in measurements and/or pictures of one or both of those. They're both a little bit too big on me, so I'm looking for a 38 rather than a 40.

VR46, thanks for the reply. I am looking for something heavier than Aeros 3 oz FQHH, but I might be interested in the Enfield. Could you give me rough measurements of that one, a few words on its condition and its weight so I know whether its from one of Vansons lighter or heavier batches? Thanks.

edit; I am still waiting for word from Dr Lecter, incase you are reading this. If the Teamster measurements suit you, I would love to hear the same information from you about the Cheyenne plus additional a few high res pictures of the leather in good light because there have been very different shades of cordovan over the years.

The teamster's measurements are of interest to me. Let me measure the Cheyenne and take some pictures tonight (it's definitely black, not cordovan). Would you PM me an email address that would be convenient for you?

In case it does interest you, my size 40 Enfield has measurements of
P2P: 23.25
Shoulders: 18.5
Sleeve: 26.6
Back: 25.25
It's Vanson's competition weight hide used in their riding jackets. I've used Vanson jackets for riding for years (not this one) and it's the same weight. I just weighed it at 5.6 lbs.
Condition is very good, but it's been worn a few years so not new. Vanson hide doesn't show wear like Aero does, it stays looking almost new.
I understand that Dr L is sending photos on his jacket: just wanted to give this reply info in case you - or anyone else - might be interested.

Thank you. I haven't decided anything yet. For now I am only checking what's out there and taking everything into consideration. Who knows, the holy grail might still be out there somewhere.

Few quick snaps of the Teamster and also one of the Reversible Waterfront. I took of a close up of the Teamster leather because the colour of the brown fqhh is hard to catch, it looks from brown to reddish depending on light but it is brown, not cordovan as the close up shows.

edit: god, the Teamster is beautiful. I am already having sellers regrets and it's not even gone yet, haha.

I am keeping the On the Waterfront, talked to a tailor and he will taper it through the body so it fits me better (the 24" in the chest are fine, it's just too wide in body and waist because it's cut straight without any taper (very unlike my Vanson Stadium that has the same pit to pit but fits like a charm).

The Teamster is still up for trade if anything interesting comes up. Besides heavy leather, I am now also looking for something in goatskin.

Also, the Conolly Steerhide Barnstormer in size 40 that I shot at the bay a while ago is up for trade. Pics will have to wait til weekend, til then, I can only assure you it's beautiful. Sadly, I don't feel the long style suits me. Longer coats are for long and lean people and I am neither of both.

I'm confused noone's offering me their wives, children nor camels for the Barnstormer. Should maybe create a thread for it specifically so it gets more attention. :D

Are you selling it? Please let me know the price. If your trading, I have a minty Barnstormer type early 50's in light brown horsehide Monarch. It is big on me. It fits like a modern 44.

Took some pics of the Barnstormer. Perfect condition except for a few small grey spots of wear at the sleeves, of the two biggest ones I took pics, but it's very minimal, signs any jackets with a few months of wear would show and comparing to used jackets of mine, I don't think this coat was worn much longer than that.

Help! Just linked this thread to Holly@Aero and she tells me the pics of the Barnstormer are not showing for her. Anyone else with the same problem? Or is it in fact only me who can see them?

One of the two is temporarily for sale for around 600 USD because there's a beautiful Cal Leathers on eBay which I would love to get with the funds.

I have the same on my Highwayman ( brown HH) its wear because it touches the wall, hanging on a coat hanger.

I really like that Teamster as well. I was considering one before I bought my HBD. Unfortunately its too small for me, and I need a lighter jacket at this point.
