Hello all.

For sale is this absolutely stunning CHP jacket from Vanson, who told me it was manufactured in May of 2002 (side note, it's crazy they can tell me that it was purchased, sold to and returned by an individual customer, and then sold to a specific dealer in 2003, bananas!) meaning this is the older CHP model no the MK2 (though I'm not sure what the differences are).

I bought this mostly because I figured it would be easy enough to catch and release and wanted to get my hands on a Vanson in my size and what looked like some of that old school, legendary comp weight.....and momma, I see the light!

This thing is heavy. I don't have enough Vanson experience to say where it lands in the spectrum of competition weight batches they put out but for my money this is absolutely stellar stuff. Robust, but still supple in the right ways. Just the right amount of grain and broken in but plenty of room for further break in and to make it your own, etc.

I also gotta say the pattern on this model is outstanding. It's remarkably comfortable, with the sleeves tightening up to the cuff with the zip ever just so, great arm movement, just completely lived up to my expectations of what makes people so smitten with Vanson. I will include the measurements but I would say follow Vanson's size chart/recommendations more than the listed measurements as I feel this measures differently form other jackets I have that fit well but this thing fits superbly.

So why am I selling? I just don't think I need a CHP in my current rotation, that's really it. As I said, I bought this knowing I might not want to keep it but really wanted to get my hands on a proper Vanson and it's everything I hoped it would be.

As for the condition: I would say it's in pretty great shape, the only true flaw is that the male zipper pin fabric is starting to separate from the leather a bit. You can still zip it up you just have to be deliberate (and maybe a bit gentle) about it, and if I were to keep it it's something I would probably want to get fixed. Other than that there's just general sign of wear for a 24 year old jacket but the cuffs, all the other zips, lining etc. all is n good condition. The collar (I believe real mutton but I can't be certain) is also in solid condition. Nice beefy main zip with good leather pulls. I would also note that the side string laces seem to be rather long and I'm not sure if that's a style thing or it's something you're supposed to cut. But just wanted to note it.

Asking for $325 plus shipping (likely about $350 total) with buyer covering the fees if they want to use PayPal goods and services. I am in NYC if anyone is local. Happy to ship internationally but of course, shipping will be pretty expensive.

I will be leaving for about 10 days on 4/22 (tomorrow, as of posting) so I won't be able to ship until May assuming nobody snags it in the next few hours but wanted to post to gauge interest as I'm not entirely sure of selling it.

As for trades, a Vanson C2 or Comet in a 44 with similar level of CW leather would be what I'm after. Other than that I probably won't be interested but I'm happy to hear any and all offers!

Having a hard time with uploading images as the files are too big. Anyone have any advice on this? Is the limit 5mb? If there's a better solution than individually exporting the images into smaller files, please let me know!

For now here's an Imgur link to the rest of the photos including measurements:
