Looking to get a B-10 and i’m really liking what Gizemo is making. i’m wanting the Brown Fur legacy, not the special fabric poly/cotton blend.

i’ve seen greg’s youtube video on it and from what he has said i think im going to be a 38 or 40, depending on physical measurements. i know they have their chart on the website but actual measurements is always helpful!!

i am open to other b-10s, but to be very similar is the goal!

let me know if anyone has one that they want to get rid of or if anyone has seen one around on the internet!

thanks,
B

Greg's is not the legacy version.

What's your budget?
thank you, i did notice that, i noticed that the sleeves in the legacy are “shortened” per the info on Gizemo site and wasn’t sure how much shorter they are compared to the special fabric as Greg’s is.

i’m wanting to stay under $400USD.

Hello Bmiller,

When you say
but to be very similar is the goal!

I guess you mean very close to Gizemo offering rather than a faithful reproduction of an original B-10, right?

For 400 USD a Japanese Mccoy/Buzz/Few will get you pretty close to something very nice.

Gizemo seems sits squarely between Bronson and Buzz Rickson's offerings.
Closer to BR as far as I can tell.
The way they're going, they may well meet BR/ RM mark head on in the near future.

If you can find an 'as new Buzz' or even better, a Real McCoy or the Few, you'd be good.
That said a 'new' legacy B-10 appears to be a greta jacket for the price.

Why not order from them?

in addition, did forget to mention,

I’m sorry for the confusion, what i should’ve said from the beginning is what i like about gizemo,

1. i feel that is is an overall good repro in terms of materials, color and knit color, vintage mouton and price, please correct me if i’m wrong.

2. i do like that it seems to have longer sleeves(at lease the poly/blend one greg has did), so i was hoping that it would be similar on the legacy version, even though it says it’s sleeves are shortened, i was hoping they would be long enough.

3. now what anyone would attest is that a GW would be the absolute top tier, and i would agree, but i think for the price, quality and accuracy that gizemo is, that is why i chose them.

i’m not a fan of the Buzz red or grey knits, and i’ve heard that eastmans mouton is a modern sorta version, not so fluffy and more like sherpa?

again anyone please correct me if i’m wrong or there is a better route, i want to learn more and i’m only going off of what i know and have found.

i am scared of the fit mainly, i know they’re currently out of the 38 (which i believe i would need), i just don’t want to order a 40 and have to go through the process of returning).

All good points! I was asking about how faithful you were going after to better understand your quest. Now that you've mentioned GW as a benchmark I get you. But Gizemo is not devoted into copying a specific contract. Its more a fire for effect. They rather go for a nice assemblage of well made components. I'd be supprise they have a dedicated dev team that study originals, etc. I personally think they are a bit expensive while not being able to deliver a full detailed repro.

Eastman is Eastman and what you would expect, faithful and analog to the original they are reproducing. Yes the fuzzy red mouton collar is weird but some ages very nicely.

I still think that at 400 US bills, you will get a nicer (repro) in the Japanese second hand market.

P.S The latest Buzz Rough wear B-10 Contract 470715 (BR15349-15325) is amazing. I have one and have compared it with originals A-10 and A-9 trousers for fun, and its the mark for sure.

GLWTS!

I don't think one is able to return jackets with Gizmo.
But your points above are all valid, although with Buzz, the olive knits are a darker olive shade not grey.

Knits colors or rather shade is often an Achilles' heel with B-10 repros. Then there is the manufacturer tag, zipper type, fabric......

Bret is right, returning may not be an option, reselling is...
yeahhh…that’s kinda what i’ve been noticing. it’s always something hahaha

thank you guys very much for all the info and insight.

i did check out that Buzz 470715, man that thing is sweet. i’ll be looking around japanese secondaries for sure!!

Sleeve-24.5in/62.25cm
shoulder-16.25in/41.25cm
p2p-20in/51cm
front-22.5in/57cm
back-25in/63.5cm
hem-19in/48.25cm

here’s an aero a-2 i have, everything is good on it except the sleeves needing about an inch on each side(straight with knit), for a shoulder+sleeve length of about 68in

Okay, so yeah a size 40 Gizemo or Mccoy/Buzz could be gambling.
I think you could fit in a Japanese size 38 and that's pretty cool cause its the most common size over there so plenty of choice depending on the rarity of the item.

Im 5'10 40" chest and find most jackets a bit short, especially in the sleeves.
As far as Buzz goes, they generally run short.
A size 40 will fit nicely in the chest, but will not fit you in length.

I was lucky to find a 42 that looked good on paper and it was!

I have tried a number of Buzz B-10 40 and 42s over the years and they are all short, except this one I have.
So, make sure you get visual evidence of the measurements.

(I recently tried a Buzz B015 size 40 that fit beautifully).

I had a Real McCoy B-10 size 40 and it fit like a 42. Lengths were better than most Buzz Ricksons.

I think all being said and done, a Gizmo would be your best call. They do run longer than Buzz.
If it doesn't fit, you can sell it.
