ok guys, i am on the hunt. Long story short, i got sick about a year ago and now take medicine that makes me very sun sensitive. I decided then to start trying real hats and now have a small collection. I have been trying to find the right brown fedora but everything i look at on eBay, etc. is stingy brim or wool. I have been looking out here a while now and you guys have some nice hats! Where do you find them? If any of you are selling, please let me know and I’ll take a look

I am about to do an Autumn clean out of some hats. What is your sweet spot.....crown height, brim width and is it only brown hats you are interested in?
Well embarrassing admission - as i was packing away my summer weaves, what I thought was the box for my natural Strat was actually an unworn walnut Strat b royal, so i guess i am actually set for chocolates. I don’t know how that happened so I’m blaming it on the medicine. Regardless, i am still looking but now i am looking more broadly. Somewhere in that 2.25 - 2.75 brim. for this hat, something to wear politely to work so crown not gigantic but the 4 ~ 4.5 is good. I can go broader brim if i can pull it off not looking to western. I like the western styles but most of the guys around here wearing those are actually western life guys and i don’t want to be fraudulent.

I have a like new Akubra Campdraft in Bluegrass Green. Size 59cm in perfect shape. It fits your general description. Also have an Akubra Stylemaster in Fawn that might work for you. I too found a straw hat just the other day I forgot I had. Cannot recall who, where, when I bought it.......now that is a sign I have toooo many hats and time to shed the unworn ones.
