While not knit, I have been wearing these vests from Filson for several years now

They are a dense woven wool, and in cold weather very warm, but when it warms up not hot and here in E. Texas that's saying a lot for a comfort range where it can be in mid to upper 20's in morning and up to mid 70's by afternoon in the winter. Unless it's extremely cold and windy, I will pair with a lightweight windbraker in the mornings.
