Is it worth sanding wool felt?
I have never worked with felt and not sure many or even any on this site have worked with it on making a hat.Is it worth sanding wool felt?
I think the best way to find out is to start sanding and see what happens. Wool felts are cheap, pick one to be the sacrificial lamb. Use a very fine grit, 1000 or even 1200 and use a light touch so as to not tear the fibre. .I have been smashing out some great felt hats and it's so easy to work with I just want them smoother
I've been practicing with them I used a hand sander on one it looks good but a little grainy. But I'll get some 1000 sand paper andI think the best way to find out is to start sanding and see what happens. Wool felts are cheap, pick one to be the sacrificial lamb. On a fur felt I start with 800, go to 1000, then 1200 and finish with a white poly non abrasive 3M pad to polish.I've been practicing with them I used a hand sander on one it looks good but a little grainy. But I'll get some 1000 sand paper and
