We should all have over-the-calf boots. And spurs!...We do need spurs. (silence) Don't we?

This, in my mind, is where the ... breakdown isn't the word, but I can't think of a proper one ... began. You can see it coming, but somehow the manifestation is still unexpected.

Carter, you're hilarious!

DB, this is a hunt you're talking about. Don't neglect your recon. I'll lend you something in the UAV family, if you like.

lol

Oh, and IMF ... you make an *excellent* point!

When closed the head is to the right, rattle to the left, Number of rattles is 5 years per rattle mine will have 10 links on the rattle for another 8 months or so.]

Corona will be good for light swooning.
Perhaps we'll reserve the Guiness for heavy swooning. Can the elves help with that? Also, you'll need to be very gentle with Diamondback. Apparently he has an issue with hops. Something about a bunny in a movie he saw as a child. Very traumatic. Poor chap never quite recovered. See if we can find a quantity of spirit he likes in the rear echelon.

I quite like the direction of the uniforms. Will the heels be alright? I absolutely adore a nice mithral clasp. It's so...rodnog. Or is that hsivle? Whatever.

THe links present a problem. We'll need a survey to determine proper insignia. Mine are eleven going to 12 within a month or so.

Imay need to retire to the rear echelon once this op is a wrap. Perhaps I could be quartered in a caboose. Hmmm...

Ooooo....Swooning is good! We can definitely use swooning.

DB, Armaments and transport seem to be a tad er ... excessive. Can we have these as back-up in case we need emergency extraction.

Initially, bearing covertness in mind, do you have access to something a tad er...lighter.

I suppose the FM Cap will be OK but no more changes.

DT, How .re we doing on those boots? I want 2 inch heels? Is that doable? Check with the elves.

, Have you located Minderbender yet? Iwish he'd check in. HELLO, MINDERBENDER? YOHOO!
Well we could go mounted cavalry units, but only if we use McClellan saddles but then we will need a second cape that will cover rider and saddle. boots will have a least 2" heels so we won't loose a foot through a stirrup

Ms dashiell :eek:fftopic: is what happens when we boys are left alone with each other and no ladies to keep us in line.

as for a "hunting" trip, I think we need to call it a rescue, of course I am only helping in the rescue, I won't win the lady in the end [as any decent happy ending should be] as I am only allowed to look at the menu but am not allowed to sample which is just fine with me.....:eusa_clap

RIGHT, HFLG, good thinking. Genuine caboose, understated, won't attract undue attention. Let's move it to the rear echedlon. We'll convert it to temporary quarters for those suffering post traumatic stress from caboose rescuing . Let's make sure it's well-padded inside and out. Something in a nice baby blue marshmallow should do nicely.

Dashiell, righto, good to have you aboard. Have you any notion where Minderbender is off to? Hmmmm.....

See if you can turn up this assest in the Aussie Camp. She may be able to provide his location.
BTW, she may be of use should we need rescue by sea. You know, one if by land....never mind.

Here's the most recent photo. Approach withsome delicacy. She's a bit of a hairball. Loves cats you know. And dogs. And...creatures.

Hmmm...I wonder what'll happen next.

Mounted is GOOOD!
But won't we trip over our capes when walking in 2" Heels?

BESIDES, WHERE CAN ONE BILLET EQUINES ON THE FRENCH RIVERA?

Wait a minute, DT, that is BRILLIANT! Contact Bardot and Vadim (are they still together?). Perhaps they can provide assistance.

PLease baer in mind, we are only to look at the menu. NO CONSUMPTION (except beer and MRE tacos). This is a RESCUE OPERATION.

Faint heart n'er won fair lady!

Who said that?

Where are HFLG and Diamondback? Are they getting tatoos in the nether regions?

MINDERBENDER WHERE ARE YOUuuu?

Bob's Your Uncle!

Has anyone heard from Monsieur Marc Chevalier? He is supposed to be on surveillance. Is he still searching for his cabooses?

Dash, we have a mission of the utmost importance for you. I want to dispatch you to Dunkirk. We have a Russian-speaking asset there. Goes by the name of zaika. I want you to link up with her and see if you can discover the present locations of Chevalier and HadleyH. Then report back to HQ.

Well, off you go Dash.

Let me hear from you soonest. It's early days but time moves apace.

(leaves the room, hands clasped behind back. Can be heard singing softly, "Oh I wish I knew where Milo, Milo, Oh I wish I knew where Milo, Milo is today."

Oh, Dash, here's a photo of zaika. Approach with some trepidation. She's not had holiday for a bit.

WAIT! Let me see that photo.

Arggh, that's not her. That's the French Caboose.

Hang on, I have that photo around here somewhere.....

(leaves the room muttering under his breath)

Copy tango, Carter.

Up to the challenge, Zaika? My intelligence indicates Chevalier is particularly difficult to handle.

yes recon in force..... that will be the job of the calvary units I think we could recruit Anzac 1915 to lead the Light Horse on the left [we will NOT make them dismounted infantry] I will also need a Brit to lead the 13th Hussars, as in the Charge of the Light Brigade they will hold the right

to the center, the 7th Calvary, yes they did have some issues with a certain officer named Custer, but they more than made up for that with the Air Cav unit in Viet Nam and besides we can move to the Gary Owen.

finally we need the Black Watch. when we leave the field I want to hear Scotland the Brave.....

I think I have too much time on my hands, I wonder what the young lady in the picture would think if she read this thread:eek:

lol

Ms. Dash, any kind of tech-support's always appreciated. All this gear means we'll have to ditch the 130 for a C-5 though, if we've got an IT specialist I think we can turn that into an airmobile base-camp too.

Not gettin' the needlepoint done--I have a violent (as in: flying lead violent) allergic reaction to sharps pointed at me. Actually, was off trying to find additional intel.

You guys can be as "no sampling" as you like; considering I've never even had a first kiss:eek:, if some fair lady cares to show her appreciation for a bailout, who am I to argue?lol

As for MY uniform: if I am truly "the new MacArthur", I gotta look the part, right?

Probably for the better I can't reactivate the Horsemen for this one--OTOH, War has a girlfriend, "Strife", anyway...

(wireless transmission, carter to dash)

FLASH, zaika may be travelling under an alias.

Her motto is, "The more aliaser I am, the better."

A bit of a Cold War holdover you know. Never quite came in from the cold. Blames it all on some chap named Deighton.

May be travelling as Mork, Dork, Mindy, or Stork.

Confirmation of identity is critical.

Consider unarmed and dangerous. Approach with caution.

Nanoo Nanoo may be the password, or not.

Zaika, you are required to confirm your identity via sign-countersign.

Punkiest new hair color?

Awaiting response.

(private conference with DT)

Well, old chap, depends on which "young lady" you're referring to. I would imagine either would be thrilled to be rescued by such a gallant and intrepid group as we.
Perhaps we'll learn ere this is concluded.
BTW, do you know the whereabouts of Salv?

(back to the ready room where chaos reigns supreme)

DT, But what of the Riviera? Not to mention the RUSSIAN ARTILLERY. and the SIOUX? We'll never fit them all in. And
I so wanted to avoid letterbox.

THe Black Watch by all means. And Scotland the Brave. What about Men of Harlech (?)? (I may misspell it but quite like the tune.)

DB, Sorry about the wound, old chap. Once this opeartion is concluded, we'll have someone kiss it for you.
Today, you are incognito. Must not let your identity be revealed. Hirohito has spies everywhere. For now, you must remain, "MacArthur-in-Waiting". All will be revealed in due course.

Work with DT on the cavalry. He seems quite enamoured of the project.

I knew a girl named Strife once. Believe we married. Reminds me of the time...

(walks to the window and gazes out. quietly sings sotto vocce "zaika blue, zaika blu-oo-oo-oo-ue, my favorite color's zaika blue.")

I do believe we have a totally unidentified young lass and the possible sister of same.

Well the Black Watch will need to inspire the troops and demoralize the enemy, and as I said when we leave the field Scotland the Brave is a must.

As for "He who is in waiting" he must stay secure in the rear area as we cannot afford to lose that many stars all at one time. and we will need someone to coordinate our air, ground, recon and sea going units, as well as to gain the use of the Liberty ship Jeremiah O’Brien for Transport from the US to England

as for the Russians, if they are with us, ok, if against us the c130 gunships will keep them busy.

As for the Sioux, both Great Great grandmothers [dad and moms side] were full blooded Sioux so that is covered.
