My last (for now) Wolfbrae. This is another suede finished rabbit fur felt from The Millinery Warehouse. The color is granite and I was going for an Open Road style hat scaled up to my size. I wish I could have got more crown height, but there’s only so much you can do with a dress weight hat body.

Not sure if the cattleman’s crease will stick….

You can also see how the color changes from indoor artificial light to natural indirect (shade) lighting to direct sun. In any light it’s a spectacular hat! Thank you, Robert!

A couple of amazing hats, Brent. I can't wait for my next one!

My latest Wolfbrae. This is my first using the suede finished rabbit fur felt from The Millinery Warehouse. The color is their version of silverbelly. The ribbon is maroon and the binding is just a bit lighter than the felt. The minimal taper 6” open crown an 3 1/8” brim were just what I wanted. The felt has a nice hand and is substantial in weigh and thickness. It’s nothing like western weight felt…it’s like Stetsons recent Royal De Luxe/Premier open crown dress felt. The details and workmanship is very nice.

The best part is there were two other hats in the box from Wolfbrae!

I wasn’t sure that this felt was going to get me where I wanted to go as it arrived floppy and seemingly without any stiffeners. The felt turned out perfect! I had a vintage look in mind and Robert nailed it! The felt is actually rabbit velour, but it now has a melusine/long hair look. The color is The Millinery Warehouse’s version of camel, but is quite a different than Winchester’s camel. The crown was 6” open and the raw edge brim is 3 5/8” after the curl.

Sometimes I’ve been a bit disappointed in some of the hats vintage and custom hats I’ve bought. Sometimes I’m surprised at how much I end up liking a hat. This velour/medium long hair is a hat I wear abound the house I like it so much. Light, comfortable, and a perfect fit. The felt is soft with just the perfect firmness. It’s just a hat that makes me happy when I wear it. Thank you, Robert!

So Robert @belfastboy said this was a dye job gone bad. Then I heard Brent @deadlyhandsome say that there might be a market for a hat like this. Well... I sweet talked Robert into selling it to me. He re-blocked it for me and here it is.

EDIT: Robert called this his ZZ Top Dusty Hill tribute hat, mentioned in the Musician's hats thread. https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/musicians-hats.35524/page-145#post-2835871
I am so glad you convinced me to sell it to you......looks way better on you than it did on me. You wear it well!!

Here are two hats I just shipped off. The white one is a repeat of the UltraLite felt 'Panama' clone. Venting on the crown and sides of a light weight Tonak rabbit felt. The slightly darker felt is a beaver felt I purchased from Art . It is his special Winchester beaver felt in the Limestone coloured felt. Tone on tone brim binding, dark brown crown ribbon

Hi folks, quick review of my first Wolfbrae hat (the one robert posted above.) it’s fawn color, 100% beaver dress weight, 5 1/2” open crown, 3 1/8” brim. real soft felt and easy to crease. beautiful ribbon work by robert, great craftsmanship overall. this was my first custom hat and robert was real knowledgeable and patient and wonderful to work with. highly recommended!

It looked nice in Robert’s photos, but it looks great on you. That’s a style I might have to duplicate. Enjoy your great hat!
