I don't know if it's the economy, but issues of AA have been really common on ebay the last couple of months. Maybe lack of funds, along with the large supply has lowered the demand.

You're right--Ebay not doing great right now

Funny you should mention the economy and Ebay...Just today I heard a financial reporter comment that she's surprised that in this economy Ebay isn't doing better right now. She said garage sales and thrift stores, yes, Ebay not so much. Advantage: us, the vintage-a-holics.

Oooweee. Obviously someone out there must have a thing for lady air-raid wardens.

And I thought I was the only one with that fetish. It's nice to know I'm not alone.

The demand for those issues is as high as ever -- maybe even higher than before. They ended up fetching very high prices.

This issue of APPAREL ARTS went for less because it's from the 1940s. Collectors greatly favor AA issues from the '30s, which they think are superior in quality.

Ah I see. Thanks for that piece of info.

There was an issue of apparel arts (i think one of the 1934 numbers) sold a few months ago for under $30. The same seller had two others that went over $400. The cheap one didn't mention Apparel Arts in the title. :eusa_doh:

Maybe i should sell mine, though the only one i have now is the 5th anniversary edition, which consistently gets lower prices than the "standard" issues.
